Default How will you watch your DVDs?

Tomorrow is the big day! How are you going to watch your DVDs? Will you select your favorite episode from the sets and watch it first? Will you start with episode one and watch them in order? Will you watch the bonus material first to enhance your watching of the episodes later? How will you savor these?

Me? I am going to watch "Sally is a Girl" first. I guess the reason is because I know they've edited so much out of that episode and I want to see what has been restored. Then I will probably watch the bonus material for enhanced viewing of the episodes in order.

I can't believe the day is almost here!!!

Lolac,
I think that's a good idea! Everyone, go to the episode that you remember most as being edited, then watch it, and let the rest of us know what has been restored, and wheather or not you think it took away from the scene to have it removed in the first place. OK?
This should be fun!

Steve, I like your idea. However, it will be a few days before I will be able to do it because I just checked with Amazon.com and my estimated delivery date for those 2 sets in Oct 27-Nov3. SIGH!!! Well, I've waited this long. Another week won't kill me.

Lolac,

Sorry to hear about the delay from Amazon. The reality is, I order about 75% of my online purchases thru them, but recently I've been disenchanted with them for that very reason - they aren't good at getting materials out to the customers on the day of releases. That's why I went with DVDEmpire on this purchase. My set was mailed out on Friday via Priority Mail, so I expect to see my set either today (early!!) or by tomorrow at the latest (on time).

I did place an order with amazon.com for another dvd that was also scheduled for release tomorrow, and I see that they still haven't even mailed the thing! That's really frustrating, and means I'll be waiting for it like you will be waiting for your two sets.

I think from now on, if there is a dvd or book that is yet to be released, and I REALLY want it on the day of release (or earlier if possible), I'll go with some other company besides Amazon. Otherwise, if it isn't important, I'll stick with them because despite this "problem", I still think they are very good in reliability, packing, and customer service.

B&W "my problem is I am literally the 4th stop from the end on my long, long block and my mail usually doesn't arrive until at least 3:30 pm, and often not until after 5 pm!!!! - Ughhh this will be a long day..." fan

I live in Elliston, Virginia, so I doubt they'll have the DVD show on DVD on the shelves of WalMart. so soon.

I did not know about DVDEmpire. Next time you can be sure that's where I'll be going. Amazon.com got the last "Harry Potter" book here on the release date. I automatically assumed the same would apply here. I'm tempted to go to Costco to get my 2 season sets tomorrow and simply return the DVDs to Amazon when they come next week. I don't think I can wait another week!!

Amazon was good when I bought the first season of TMTMS. I got it the day it was released. I think it depends on what kind of shipping you take. Obviously I really wanted to get TMTMS as soon as possible, so I took 24 hour shipping and it was fine. For this I think I took 3-7 days b/c of cost so I'll probably get it this week.

As for what I'll watch first, probably the bonuses b/c that's what I've been looking forward to most then "Oh How We Met On the Night We Danced" just because it happens to be one of my very favorite episodes.

Screenwriter, where is Elliston? I live in Fairfax Station outside of DC. We may be "neighbors!"

Awww, that sucks. I should be getting mine sometime this week. I just tracked my package, and it's somewhere in Delawere LOL.

But anyway, to Meg! I'll let you know how my DVD's are!

I received an e-mail from amazon that the DVDs were shipped yesterday, so I should be getting them in a day or two. Not too bad. I can't wait to get them!! I'm glad I don't have to wait til Christmas!! Hang in there!

I'm in Fairfax County in Northern Virginia. You live in the beautiful part of the state!! Did you get hit hard by Isabel? It was an exciting few days for us!

Lolac, even though this conversation is interesting... let's save it for emails... No I didn't get hit hard by Isabel, but I heard she inundated the upper portion of the state. And thank you. I do believe this is a beautiful part of the state.

Smile From the beginning!

It's been a few years since I've watched the show regularly so I'm starting from the beginning! I watched the first four episodes last night and am so happy with the quality--I've never seen the show look so good on tv!! I'll probably watch the episodes on each disc and then the extras. I don't usually listen to very many commentaries but am really looking forward to these! I love that they included the original sponsor commercials and I love the packaging--I'm just in DVD on DVD heaven!!
