Why do paper making factories stink? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

When I was a kid, and my family and I would go to the beach, we'd always pass this paper making factory, and it smelled horrible!!! Iv'e never understood why making paper is such a stinky process, and was hoping someone can explain it to me. Is it the ink they use, or what? Any information would be appreciated!
