Samantha's diamond ring - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I noticed in the episode Red Light, Green Light and again in tonight's episode Pleasure O'Reily that Samantha now wears a diamond ring along with her wedding band. In all the earlier episodes she just wears a plain wedding band. Does anyone know when Darrin gave Samantha the diamond ring? Was it written into one of the episodes?

Is that the Green Emerald one that you are refering too?,as that one was given to her as a Love gift by her Husband early in the run of the show just before season 1 started filming & she wore it till season 5 when she replaced it with a large Diamond ring,i assume a gift as well from her Husband.

Thanks Larry,

I saw the ring more closely this morning in the episode about Samantha learning to drive. It does appear to be an emerald ring with a ring of small diamonds around the emerald. It's a beautiful ring. I guess it was never explained how Samantha came to have it.

I don't think there were ever any explainations on the show about ring changes etc. as in effect it was more to do with Liz & Bill Asher then Samantha & Darrin.

This scan has a really nice shot of the Emerald/Diamond ring,it is very Beautiful,i think Asher gave it to Liz inbetween the shooting of the Pilot & the First season of Bewitched.
