Default Bewitched movie

I was on a website that was discussing the making of a movie based on Bewitched and there were several suggestions on who each character could be played by. The most popular choice for Samantha is Nicole Kidman(I agree) but I kind of doubt if she would be involved in a "fluff" movie like this. Jim Carrey was suggested for Darrin and I thought that was a great choice! I can just see him playing Darrin! My husband thinks Crispin Glover(who played George McFly in BTTF ) would be a good choice. So anyway who do you think should play the major roles?
Samantha
Darrin
Endora
Larry Tate
Aunt Clara
Uncle Arthur
Tabitha
Maurice
Louise Tate

I will have to think about the others some more.I am curious to see what you guys come up with!

Default My cast list.

Samantha- I know a lot of people think Nicole Kidman should play her, but what about Nicole's best friend Naomi Watts, she looks more like Samantha and I bet she could play her well.

Darin- Defintely Jim Carrey, he seems like the perfect choice, imo.

Uncle Arthur- Maybe Sean Hayes..

Tabitha- I think Dakota Fanning might be able to do a good job playing her.

I don't really know who should play the others..

I think it's best if they focus the movie on Darrin & Samantha meeting.Save Tabitha for #2 but yes she is a good choice.

Sean Hayes as Uncle Arthur--perfecto Larry Paul!

I think the only logical choice for Darrin is Jim Carrey, although I read last week that Will Farrell has signed on, and that Nicole Kidman is committed to the project as Samantha.

I wish it were either Alicia Silverstone or Kate Hudson. I'd love to weigh in more here, but I've got a Red Sox party to get ready for.

You could be right. Maybe Alicia then. Meg Ryan would have been perfect 10 years ago.

I have heard that Alicia was considered. I think that would work. Meg would have worked too. But Meg tends to always play "Meg Ryan" in her comedy roles IMO. I am afraid that she would overshadow the Samantha character. I t will be interesting won't it?

Go Sox!

I agree - I think Naomi would be a much better choice

I don't think Jim Carrey would be good Darrin at all - not quite sure who I'd pick, someone a little more boy-next-door-ish. JMO

I read about this a long time ago- I've seen it covered on many places- even saw something about it on tv once. Anyway- for the past 10 years studios have been trying to get Bewitched off the ground. About 7 years ago some guy got real close- apparently he'd finished pre-production but he died and the project fell apart. Also- apparently Nicole has been in serious talks for a while about the movie. She kept changing her mind but apparently she's almost ready to sign- but she already has a few films scheduled for production or release (The Stepford Wives-plug!) next year.
As for Jim Carrey- I'm not sure if he's been discussed. Apparently 10 years ago when everyone was trying to make Bewitched, Diane Keaton and a few other stars of that time were considered.

Will Ferrell has signed on to play Darren according to IMDB.com. The movie is also set for release in 2005.
