Good picks, all those were favorites of mine that year as well. I was heavy into the Police, Culture Club and Michael Jackson that year. Diana Ross as well, I attended her Central Park concert she had here in NY that summer. 1983 was the year I became a Prince fan after years of not paying attention to him. Little Red Corvette and Delirious were favorites, as well as:Love Is A Battlefield--Pat Benatar She Works Hard For The Money--Donna Summer Maniac--Michael Sembello I'm sure there's other that'll pop into my head later... |

True but technically speaking, Thriller was the title track from an album released in 1982, so it's possible BrooklynGuy78 listened to that song throughout 1983. |

The 1982-83 school year was probably the greatest year (to me) for music.....as far as my lifes soundtrack goes. The new British Invasion was a great shot in the arm.
You guys named the good songs. "Our House" and "It Must Be Love" Madness "Islands in the Stream" Kenny and Dolly "The Safety Dance" Men WIthout Hats "Is There Something I Should Know" Duran Duran "Candy Girl" and "Popcorn Love" New Edition "Back on the Chain Gang" The Pretenders "Synchronicity II" and everything else on that album The Police "Church of the Poison Mind" Culture Club "Let the Music Play" Shannon "Twist of Fate" Olivia Newton-John "Time Will Reveal" Debarge "Try Again" Champaign "Overkill" Men at Work "Cuts Like a Knife" and "This TIme" Brian Adams "Sexy and 17" Stray Cats All of the singles from "Thriller" Mike "Cum on Feel the Noize" Quiet Riot "Heart to Heart" Kenny Loggins "Shock the Monkey" Peter Gabriel along with at least a hundred others. |
