Since 1969, when he made his debut as the announcer on Goodson-Todman's syndicated revival of Beat the Clock, Gene Wood's voice has been heard on numerous game shows, including Family Feud and Card Sharks. In recent years, he hasn't been heard on any of the new syndicated or cable shows? What has he been up to lately? Hopefully, he's still alive and well. BTW, Wood's shows are still rerun on Game Show Network.

I looked him up, didnt find a death date. It says he is a editor and writer for 7th Heaven.

I looked up in the IMDb site that Gene Wood was born on May 16th, 1934. He isn't dead yet! He was the announcer on all game shows including the host on the 70's original "Beat the Clock".

I forgot to menton. Gene Wood was also the announcer on a game show called "Win, Lose or Draw" opposite Bob Hilton.

The Beat The Clock shows from the 70's were not the original.

I only have the 1979 airing I taped off of GSN last year as part of the Snow Day marathon. Monty Hall was the host right after Gene Wood left to pursue as an announcer on many game shows like "Card Sharks", "Classic Concentration", "Family Feud" and "Win, Lose or Draw" with co-announcer Bob Hilton.

He is probably the last old-school announcer left next to Johnny Olsen, Johnny Gilbert, Charlie O' Donnell, just to name a few!!
