Default Why is Family Matters rated PG on ABCFAM...

It makes no sense, since Saturday, every episode of FM has been rated PG. Before that though, all had been ranked G(even the two repeat episodes that aired this weekend)

Of course not. There was not even any kissing. Family Matters is a straight G-rated show, never any violence, sex, or cussing. The worst thing that was on FM was some kissing in some episodes. It doesn't make any sense for all of last week's episode to be G-rated and then this weekends and today to be PG-rated.

I think it's because they mention sex a lot on the show. Especially Carl and Harriete, when theyr'e about to go to bed for the night. Also if you think about some episodes from the first 6 seasons, there was some very serious episodes, that wouldn't be suitable for young children.

It's because Harriet supports stealing.

Oh please... Family Matters was made for young kids. They never actually mention the word "sex" and never do anything. The worst thing ever on that show was kissing, which is in just every sitcom. TBS and WGN, though, never rated any episode of FM-PG.

Sex was mentioned several times throughout the show's run.

Don't forget the two Bruce Lee episodes, in which there was PLENTY of violence. From what I know, the second BL episode (from the last season I think - the one where Urkel turns Richie and his Friend to Bruce Lees) was rated PG in the original run as well. but other than that it's a clean show. PG for kissing? you gotta be kidding me.

Both of yesterday's episode was rated PG and there was no mention of sex, no kissing, and of course no cursing. TBS and WGN never rated any of the episodes TV-PG.

I believe the episode in which Laura is robbed at school and wants a gun from the 1994-95 season is rated PG.

that's probably one of the very few that was. That obviously had violence in it, so I can see that. I think the one in the 93-94 season where Eddie says he is a virgin is a PG-rated one too... but EVERY episode shouldn't be rated PG(especially the earlier seasons where they are now)
