I can't seem to find this information on the web. Does anyone know when the horse who played Mr. Ed was born and when he died?
Thanks. |

It is said that Bamboo Harvester (who played Mister Ed) was foaled in 1949 in El Monte, California. In 1968 at the age of 19, Bamboo suffered from a variety of heart problems including a broken leg. He was later put to sleep in 1970, with no publicity.

This may be 33 years late, but, Rest in Peace, Bamboo Harvester. You made a wonderful show and will never be forgotten.
In fact, let's remember them all. Larry Keating (1896-1963) Bamboo Harvester (1949-1970) Allan "Rocky" Lane {Voice of Mr. Ed} (1909-1973) Jack Albertson (1907-1981) {Paul Fenton, Kay's Brother} Leon Ames (1902-1993) Edna Skinner (1921-2003) |
