“One Man Shy” (a.k.a. "Peter And The Debutante"), Episode No. 13 of The Monkees (first aired on NBC December 5, 1966), was repeated @ 1:00 p.m. (EDT) on ABC. OCTOBER 16, 1967 "I Was A 99-lb. Weakling" first aired @ 7:30 p.m. (EDT) as the 38th episode of The Monkees. Yardley™ Nail Slicker Nail Polish and Walt Disney Films sponsored the show that week, and “Sunny Girlfriend”, written by Michael Nesmith, and “Love Is Only Sleeping”, written by Barry Mann & Cynthia Weil, were the featured songs. OCTOBER 16, 1971 “The Monkees Get Out More Dirt”, Episode No. 29 of The Monkees (first aired on NBC April 3, 1967), was repeated @ Noon (EDT) on CBS, with a new song added: "Steam Engine" written by Chip Douglas. OCTOBER 17, 1966 “The Success Story” (prod. #4710) first aired @ 7:30 p.m. (EDT) as the 6th episode of The Monkees. It was sponsored by Slicker and Black Label by Yardley Of London, and its soundtrack was pervaded by the tunes "I Wanna Be Free" by Tommy Boyce & Bobby Hart and "Sweet Young Thing" by Michael Nesmith, Gerry Goffin & Carole King. (Trivia Footnote: The Hollywood Squares, Heatter-Quigley's tic-tac-toe game of the stars, debuted on NBC Daytime on the same date as this episode's telecast. One of The Squares' regulars, Rose Marie, would be featured in two episodes of The Monkees in its first season.) OCTOBER 17, 1970 “Monkee Chow Mein”, Episode No. 26 of The Monkees (first aired on NBC March 13, 1967), was repeated @ 12:30 p.m. (EDT) on CBS. OCTOBER 18, 1969 “Monkee Versus Machine”, Episode No. 3 of The Monkees (prod. #4700, first aired on NBC September 26, 1966), was repeated @ Noon (EDT) on CBS, with a new song added: "Listen To The Band," written by Michael Nesmith. |
