Default copy vhs to dvd or vcd

Will someone please tell me how/what to hook up to copy vhs to dvd or vcd? I own way too many videos and I would love to learn how to record them to dvd or vcd simply because of the massive amount of space a bunch of videos take up!! Thanks!!

I am not an expert, but you'll need either a VCD recorder like this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=3049611460

or a DVD recorder like this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...&category=4786

These are standalone machines, which I'm more familiar with.

While it is nice to be able to convert your videos to DVD especially, I can tell you that that is an expensive feat overall. The DMR-E50 does not dub slp well enough to consider that as an option so every tape would have to be done in sp or lp ... at least on my DVD recorder).

I hope this helps.

Cool

you can also purchase a graphics capture card for your pc to make vcds or dvds, along with a corresponding burner drive. If you have a newer pc, with > 2ghz processor and lots of hard drive, the quality will be great.

ati all in wonder is very popular.

Default Thanks for the info!

Which is easier? The dvd recorder or connecting a vcr to my computer and downloading? Is there a difference in the resulting quality of the dvd? I do not know much about vcds other than I purchased one of Ebay a few years ago and the quality was not very good.

Thanks for your helP!!

Hey....I just noticed that "Senior Member" just popped up under my name on the left....how did that get there? I have only been registered here since August?

Default I have some stuff I'ld like copied from vhs to dvd

If anyone wants to offer this service, I will mail the tapes to them and they can keep the tapes and send me a set of the dvds.

I have over 1000 videos and would love to transfer a huge chunk of those to dvd. 99.9% are master copy vhs tapes. Here's a few that I would like transferred:

Josie and the Pussycats (complete)
Jem (complete)
Mr. Bean (complete master videos plus movie)

I have lots of exercise videos I'ld like transferred

Disney's Song of the South (I have it copied to vhs in NTSC format)

About a dozen or so Sailor Moon master vhs tapes

I have lots more...this is only the beginning. Please let me know if you are looking for any kid's videos/movies - I might have it!

Thanks!!!
