Question Questions on the final season

Because of the fact that I took on a part-time job, I didn't see much of HD during the final season. Hopefully, someone can clarify the following for me:

I knew Arnold returned for a few appearances the previous season, but did he buy Al's half of the restaurant or the whole thing?

And did Al return for the final year or did he stay behind in Chicago? I'm guessing he stayed behind.

Who owned Arnold's the final season?

I think it's funny that they could get Ron Howard (who had begun his feature film directing career by this point) to appear in the final episode, but Potsie and Ralph are nowhere to be found. Were Anson and Donny really that busy?

I also felt that having Richie appear at the last minute was a cheat. His character should have been a bigger part of the final episode. Even Shelley Long returned to Cheers for that show's final episode and had a storyline.

I think he just bought Al's half, because Fonzie owned the other half.

He stayed behind. Only Joanie and Chachi returned

Fonzie

It didn't make sense to me either. Especially since Donny Most made an appearance earlier that year, and since Potsie was still in the credits as a regular charachter.

I also felt that having Richie appear at the last minute was a cheat. His character should have been a bigger part of the final episode. Even Shelley Long returned to Cheers for that show's final episode and had a storyline.

Well, my guess is since they already had him on there with a story line earlier that year, and since they were trying to tie up a lot of loose ends with the other charachters during that hour, it wasn't neccesary.

Arnold bought the whole thing from Fonzie in #214 near the beginning of the tenth season

He stayed behind, but appeared in a couple of episodes, both as Al, and as his brother the priest

Arnold, although in ep #248 it is the Fonz that gives Chachi a job there, so it seems like he got it back again at some point

hard to say on that one... i dont remember hearing a good explanation, but Donny Most did come back in the 11th season for the "Welcome Home" episodes #237 & #238, and Anson Williams was on at least half of the final season's episodes

i think that they had already covered that with the 2 part "Welcome Home" episodes, and that they wanted to focus on the wedding and Fonzie adopting the boy plotlines, I almost thought they were doing it so they could comeback with a contiuation or spin-off series if they wanted to.

Thank God they didn't - it was time to put Fonzie out of his misery. Thanks for the answers, robyrob.

ACK!

Fonzie Didnt seel anything to him Actually. Arnold went to Chicago and bought Al's Half. Fonzie stayed on as Silent Partner like he was with Al. Arnold was in the first 11th Season episode so i guess he just stayed Co-Owner but wasnt seen On camera.

Arnold went to Chicago and bought Al's half thus Fonzie was again the silent partner.

Al didn't become an HD regular again for the last season? I'm amazed. Then again I was amazed he became a regular at all.The actor playng him could barely act. But he had the Italian-American personality and that as they say is everything.
