Default Dustin Diamond

Has anyone seen one of Dustin Diamond's live comedy shows? I just wanted to know, because I'm going next Friday and I was wondering about it.

Yes I hear that his comedy shows are awesome! I saw some clips of them on Entertainment Tonight and E. From what I also hear from some people who have seen the live shows is that he does alot of off-color jokes and throws in some profanity. It would just seem really odd to hear Screech use profanity.

On a side note. Two years ago I did see the production of the Lion King on Ice at the Staples Center in LA and Dustin played the part of Simba. Dustin was really a good ice skater and played the part of Simba to perfection. He has an outstanding singing voice also.

Well, I saw Dustin last night. The show was pretty good. Like Maxamillion said, there was a lot of profanity. It was odd hearing Screech talk like that. He was funny though. One of the first things he said when he came out was f*ck, and then in his Screech voice he's like, "Oh no, Screech said f*ck!" He talked a lot about SBTB, too. He made fun of it a lot. He made fun of the Jessie's Song episode in particular. He was acting like her in the part, "I'm so excited, I'm so excited, I'm so.....scared!" He was like, "They were just caffeine pills!" That was really funny. He explained a lot about behind the scenes stuff. He also said he was on the show so long because of the money. He knew he wouldn't find anything else. He talked about his Star Dates episode, too. He said that they offered him $10,000 to just talk to two girls that were actresses and pretend it was a real date. So apparently that show is fake. At one point he apologized for the College Years. He was like, "sorry, it wasn't my fault." I am assuming that was just part of the show. At the end of the show he was signing autographs, and I told him that I liked the College Years. He said that it was all right and it was ok to do but it could have been better. He said that if it was better written and directed, it could have lasted more than a season. So, that is my Dustin story. Everyone should go see him if you get a chance!

I am extremely upset to read that report. For Screech to badmouth the vehicle that made him an international superstar is inexcusable. And for him to depart from his usual cleancut, wholesome image is even worse. SBTB has been so good to him for so many years and how does he say thanks? He trashes everything the show ever stood for and makes a mockery of one of the top 3 episodes in the series - Jessie's Song. Thanks for the headsup. There's no way I'm gonna go see such garbage.

By the way, did he mention anything about Miss Bliss?

HE IS HUMAN. He has the right to criticize his past work, and "curse." IMO, Dustin has been the most grateful actor to come out of "Saved By The Bell." In almost all of his interviews, he states that he is very lucky, and thankful for doing the show, unlike Mark-Paul- he practically regrets doing the show.

Yeah, SBTB has been good to him. But he has the right to an opinion. His judgement on the College Years, and that specific episode doesn't mean he feels the same way towards the entire series. If you think about it, the producers did over-dramatized "Jessie's Song." It was caffeine, not crack.

Out of boredom--- this is a list that shows the actors gratitude towards SBTB:

Mark-Paul Gosselaar: I never heard him give a compliment.

Mario Lopez: He has thanked the show on now-defunct talk show, "The Other Half," when the guys were picking on him.

Dustin Diamond: SEVERAL times, on SEVERAL interviews. Most recently... "The E! True Hollywood Story."

Tiffani Amber Thiessen: During her 90210 days, she made several interviews and stated that the show was a great learning expierience, and she's thankful because many other teen actors don't have an opportunity like SBTB. She also mentioned the show on an article by FHM, and again on "Good Day Live."

Elizabeth Berkeley: She has showed her gratitude on the "Caroline Rhea" show, and "Late Night With Conan O'Brien."

Lark Voorhies: Although she's out of the spotlight, she still associates herself with the show. She recently attended a SBTB DVD signing in Santa Monica, CA.

Leah Remini: She mentions the show once in a while. During an E! interview she said she was happy for doing the show, even though people will always see her as Stacy, despite she has done so much after SBTB, ("King of Queens.")

Did Dustin mention if he's still touring with The Lion King on Ice as Simba? I've heard some really good things about his performance.

I heard the same thing. I also heard that he's a very good singer.

Ok, well, it was all for a joke. I'm sure he doesn't really hate SBTB. It was what made him famous. I wouldn't say he made a mockery of "Jessie's Song". He was just pointing out that the writing wasn't the greatest. He said that's why there were so many dance episodes. The writers couldn't think of anything to write, so it was easy to write in dances. He did NOT trash everything for which the show stands. The language that he used was a bit shocking at first, but after a while I got used to it. Like SBTB Geek said, he is human. A lot of people use that kind of language. Mark-Paul used the same type of language in Dead Man on Campus. Tiffani wasn't the innocent Kelly in 90210. And Elizabeth did Showgirls! Nothing else has to be said about that one.

No, I don't think he is. He is doing his stand-up act now. Oh, and no, he didn't mention the Miss Bliss episodes.
