It was a beautiful night they were at a county club for a SFPD party. CD, and Nate were hand and hand. There was no moment that the two of them seprated from each other. They rocked back and forth to the music.

Jinny chuckled and nudged Kate next to her at the buffet. "Say, aren't you gonna get into the biggest trouble because of Romeo and Juliet there?"

Kate shrugged, really thinking nothing of it. "I have worked something out, and well...It said that they can remain partners..well...You know what I am talking about?"

Jinny frowned. "You're trying to tell me you found a way to keep your ass out of the line of fire... but how?"

Kate chuckled. "And that would be the reason that it says Captain on my door. Maybe someday when you grow up to be captain you will understand."

Jinny gave her a look. "What? Rot in a cubicle and watch others get their kicks on the streets doing REAL police work? Me? Never." She laughed. "Try your luck with Magda or Raina... I'm sure neither of us real cops wants your job." She smirked and motioned at CD and Nate who were still dancing even though the music had stopped. "Though... maybe one of them... then they wouldn't have to sneak into your office anymore as soon as you're gone."

"Hmmm.." Kate said taking a bite of her food. "Maybe I will have to come back one day and catch them in the act."

Jinny chuckled. "It's a wonder your desk didn't crash yet, really."

Kate smriked, "Yeah, me too. None of you know what I have done in there either." She saw the face that Jinny was giving her, "Jinny your mouth is open ya might want to shut it."

Jinny swallowed. "Man cap... who woulda thought." She chuckled.

Kate laughed, "Maybe the jantiors who have caught me from time to time.." Kate winked at Jinny, and started walking away at that.

Jinny shook her head and went back to Magda. "You wouldn't believe what I just heard..." She chuckled.

Meanwhile on the dancefloor CD smiled at Nate. "Wanna go outside for a while?"

Raina who was a little more then drunk, ran straight into CD and Nate. Raina started craking-up , and couldn't stop, and through her laughs informed the two, "Hey music's stopped.”

CD gave Raina a look. "We noticed..." She said even though they hadn't really noticed. "Hey, Magda was looking for you by the way." She said so Raina would leave them alone again.

Nate looked into CD’s eyes, he thought he could melt away there, and only be one. "Yeah," He said, "I would go anywere with you."

She slightly blushed and kissed his cheek. "So would I." Arm in arm they walked outside.

There was a light wind that slightly went though Nate's hair, but all in all it was a nice breeze. They sat down on the lawn were there were no trees just open blue sky. There were no clouds that night, and they sat looking at the stars. Here, and there Nate would say, "That's the big dipper”, or the small dipper. Then casually slipped in, "CD I love you more then anything on this earth. I hope you know that."

She smiled and gently kissed him. "I know baby. And I hope you know that I love you just the same."

He kissed her back. He gently put her hand on the back of her head, and leand her back onto the grass.He always felt whenever he kissed her like their worlds came crashing together as one. It was such a powerful feeling. Just as they were feeling around each other they felt a slight sprinkling that became lots of water. They stopped, and looked around to find the sprinklers had gone off around them. If, he hadn't been so wet he might have thought this to be funny. He said, "Great, just great!"

CD groaned and jumped up. "God ****en dammit!" She ran her hand through her hair. Just when it had been best the sprinkler had started. "We bettter go inside again, huh?"

"Yeah," He said taking her by her hand, and running inside with her. Just at the door he said, "Damn, and I rented this suit too."

"And I spent 200 bucks on this dress that's now ruined." She sighed.

"I am sorry, hunny, I’ll buy you a new one while I am paying for this suit that I probably have to buy now." He kissed her gently hoping that would help.

"I don't actually care. Don't worry." She kissed him back and then they walked up to the others again.

"Forgot to take a shower at home?" Jinny laughed.

Nate gave her a look, "Haha.”

CD rolled her eyes, "If this had been a shower we would have no cloths on at the moment."

Magda gave them a look. "I think we're all glad you could restrain yourselves long enough to keep the clothes on.."

Jinny smirked, "Magda you need to relax some...Here." She handed her another drink, "You need some more to drink."

"JINNY!" She looked at her shocked. "That's alcohol! What are you doing with alcohol?"

CD rolled her eyes. "She just gave it to you. Relax and just drink it."

Captain walked over holding up Raina who was too drunk to stand on her own. "Someone wanna give me hand?"

"Sure." CD said and helped her. "Gee is she even old enough to drink?"

"Hey." Raina said, "You’re all wet."

CD smirked at her. "Raina you have no idea just HOW wet."

"What's that mean?" Raina asked.

Jinny smiled, "C'mon let's go Raina, and I will go explain the birds, and the bees, and some other things." She took Raina out of CD's hands and said, "I will take her home, and leave you two love birds be."

"Thanks Jin." CD smiled and looked over at Nate. "We better go home before we catch a cold, huh? I bet Cap wouldn't like it if we're both sick."

Kate smiled, "You’re right, I wouldn't. And there would be no time off after knowing what the two of you have done in my office."

CD just glared at Jinny.

"What?" Jinny acted innocently.

CD looked back at Kate. "I have NO idea what SOMEONE..." She glared at Jinny again. "...might have told you, but you can all just get your damn heads out of the gutter again. It's not like Nate and I rip each other's clothes off as soon as we're alone."

Everybody laughed at that.

"We really don't!" Nate protested now.

Raina got lost from Jin’s hands, and tripped over to CD and Nate who both put out their arms to catch her. Raina slurred, "Waaaaaait...wu..what...Did you do in the Caaaps officcce?"

"We TALKED." CD said.

"Meaning they had passionate sex on top of my desk." Kate laughed.

Magda said, "I can't believe you two! You should be ashamed of yourselves."

By now everyone had learned of Jonah and Jinny said "One word, Jonah...Need me to spell that out for you? J-O-N-A-H.”

CD laughed and nodded. "Yeah really. Hey maybe I should inroduce you to Paul... I heard he just got divorced again. You two would be a perfect match."

Captain beeing like the mother hen said, "Okay children knock it off."

Jinny mockingly said, "Yes, Mother."

Nate sneezed and CD looked at him worried. "We really better go..."

Nate nodded his head in agreement, and put his arm around CD. "Goodnight everyone." He yelled as leaving.

CD turned around again and waved at them.

Nate got to their car, "Would you like to drive or would you like me too?"

"I'll drive." She said and got a blanket out of the trunk and wrapped it around him.

He smiled, "Ummm CD Honny your the one with the skimpy little dress..I think you should be the one with the blanket on."

"You're the one who sneezed already. No discussion! Besides I can't drive with blanket" She smiled at him.

"OH yeah, good point..I knew there was a reason I liked you." He smiled back at her.

She chuckled and then managed to supress a sneeze and started the engine. "Your place is closer from here, isn't it?"

"Yeah," He said.

"Then your place it is." She smiled over at him and drove to his appartment. The drive was nice, and the heat was on in the car full blast keeping CD warm. It took about fifteen minutes, and they were there.

They pulled into the parking place, and Nate reached over and pulled CD into a kiss, "Sorry I couldn't hlep it. Your lips were begging for me to kiss them."

She smirked at him. "Let's go inside and I'll beg for more."

He smiled feeling the pleasure spread inside him. "Ohhh sounds like fun." He got out of the car, and shut his door.

CD quickly locked the car and followed him inside.

They were almost to Nate's door when he stopped her, and put her up against the wall, and started kissing her, "Hmm, Maybe we should start getting us out of these wet clothes before we get sick."

CD grinned. "Here, let me help you..." She whispered and wrapped him out of the suit jacket before starting to unbutton his shirt.

"Thanks, " He grinned from ear to ear. He knew exactly where to go with both hands and unzipped her dress. While kissing, and starting to take each others cloths off Nate got out his keys, and started unlocking his door. He took one hand and slid one side of the dress of her shoulder, and started rubbing her back, and took the other strap off. "I don't know about you but, I am feeling much better already."

"Oh yeah." She whispered. "Though I could feel even better..." She claimed his mouth for another passionate kiss as they stumbled into his apartment. She right away tossed his jacket that she still had been holding aside and then with one swift move ripped his shirt off not bothering to unbutton the last buttons, they just burst off into all directions. He moaned into her mouth and slid her dress off and ran his hands all over her body, already looking forward to stripping her out of her lingerie as well.

"Interesting way to greet your mother. And here I thought you were souposed to be a cop. Do you take home every tramp you see, or just the high priced ones?" A voice startled them.

CD and Nate were about as red as they could be when Nate said, "UHH...Hi mom..”

CD hid behind Nate, and muttered, "I can't believe this is happening to me."

"Maybe you should just pay her and send her away again now Nathan." His mom glared at him. "And here I thought I raised a fine young man."

"MOM!" Nate glared at her and quickly reached for his jacket again and wrapped it around CD who was feeling very embarrassed right now.

CD who was still feeling embarassed, yet upset for being called basically a hooker said, "First of all I am NO slut, and secound you did raise a 'fine young man' despite of you."

"Yeah I saw that." She muttered.

Nate took a deep breath. "MOM! Now give us a break! You weren't even supposed to be here or be assured we would have gone to CD's place. And CD by the way is my partner both at work and privately. We love each other and she's an amazing woman and I thank god every day because I'm one lucky bastard because she loves me. She deserves so much more than I could ever offer, but still she's my girl." He looked at CD adoringly.

Nate’s mother looked at CD up and down, then said, "CJ was it? would you mine giving my son and me a moment?"

"It was CD, and I will wait..." CD looked at Nate questiongly, knowing that there was only the bedroom.

Nate nodded and sneezed again.

"Actually..." CD said and took Nate's hand. "You'll have to wait a few more minutes while your son is getting into some dry clothes." Not waiting for an answer she dragged him into the bedroom with him, opened his closet and got fresh and warm clothes out for him.

"Uhh thanks CD...I'm uh really sorry for my mother. She can come accrossed as a little over bareing sometimes." He apologized, feeling horrible about how his mom had treated CD.

"No problem”, CD said, "And well. Uh Thanks for what you said, out there, and you do deserve me. You are the best thing that ever happend to me. And for that I thank YOU, because that doesn't happen much in my life. It's hard for me to let people in, and you have made it there, and you aren't going anywere. Not even becasue of your over baring mother." CD threw the clothes over to Nate. "Oh, and Nate.."

As he was changing his clothes, he asked, "What?"

"I love you." She said, and pulled him into a kiss.
He wrapped his arms around her and held her as close to him as he could. "I love you too baby."

"Hush, get dressed, your mom is waiting." CD smiled at him and gently kissed him again.

"And you get out of the wet stuff as well, will ya?" He smiled at her and quickly put on the rest of the clothes she had given him.

"And what exatly would you like me to put on?" She smirked at him.

"Actually..." He grinned back at her, opened his bedside table drawer and handed her a small blue velvet box. "Just this." He hadn't planned on asking her today but the moment had just felt perfect and he couldn't wait any longer.

CD was nearly in shock. This couldn't be what she though it was. She sat down on the bed. Yet she thought again, 'it feels so right. He is the man that I am in love with.’ The man that has always in ways she couldn't explain made her feel complete.' She looked at him, and opened the box. "Is this what I think it is?"

He smiled and nodded and kneeled down in front of her. "I actually thought I'd have roses and candles everywhere when I'd give you this... but I couldn't wait any longer." His heart was beating faster than ever before as he took the ring out of the box. It was a white gold ring with a saphire in the middle and two small diamonds on the sides of it. "I saw it and it reminded me of your eyes." He whispered and then swallowed as he looked deep into her blue eyes. "Candace I love you so much. You're the reason why I want to get up every day, you're the one who makes my heart beat, I love you more than I ever thought possible and I couldn't ever imagine my life without you by my side. Will you please marry me?"

She smiled, "Do you even have to ask Nathan? You have made me the happist women in the world, and I would love to do nothing more then to spend the rest of my life with you. Does that answer your question?"

He smiled and slipped the ring on her finger carefully. "Oh god baby. I love you so much!" He kissed her with all his love and devotion.

She kissed him back. And then as if on cue they heard a voice outside the door, "You know it's rude to keep a guest waiting."
