Default Why not the other kids from Mrs. Bliss

dose anyone know why they didn't bring Nicky & Micky to high school with Zach, Lisa and Screech? and why ther never menhioned them on the high school years?

The simple answer is that Good Morning, Miss Bliss and Saved By The Bell were too separate shows.

The reality was that they needed new characters and plot scenarios in order create stronger appeal and to compete with other shows for ratings on Saturday mornings. Nicky and Mickey were a bit too drab in personality and looks to grab audiences' attention, so they got rid of them and replace them with somewhat similar but different characters: Slater and Jessie.

I consider Slater to be the cooler and more muscular version of Mickey and he was more of a foil to Zack Morris (in making bets for cash and competing for Kelly), whereas Mickey was more like his best friend. Jessie was a more outspoken and feister version of Nicky, but she was more of a friend to Zack, whereas Nicky was more of a foil.

The original four characters: Zack, Lisa, Screech, and Mr. Belding were passable characters for the new Saved By the Bell series but even they went through some retooling.

Zack was somewhat mischevious in the Miss Bliss episodes, but overall, he was pretty harmless. Usually, he was the only one who suffered from his antics. When he became the focus of the show, the plots centered more on his schemes and how they not only affected himself but usually the whole school.

Lisa was somewhat normal and didn't really develop her whole boy-crazy, shopping, and gossiping persona in the Miss Bliss episodes. During Saved By The Bell, her character was given more of a pesonality and she was more direct with the other characters, especially when they annoyed her.

Screech was also a relatively normal and shy kid who suffered from normal problems, like unrequited love, fitting in, and avoiding bullies. As the show progressed, he became more zany and wacky for comic relief purposes.

Mr. Belding was also different. In the beginning, he was a passive disciplinarian and the audience always felt that Miss Bliss would be a better principal. Plus, he had no comic timing and a small connection with the students. This was changed during Saved By The Bell, when he became more authoritative, capable of figuring out Zack's antics and punishing him for it. Plus, his corny humor made him more lightweight and personable to the rest of the gang.

Overall, I felt that the original characters were palatable to the desired audience, only through minor changes, but Nicky and Mickey were lost causes that needed replacement.
