Default Why'd they get rid of Ms. Bliss?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the show really take a nose dive after she left? I'm sure the producers kicked themselves for letting her get away. I'd be willing to bet that it'd still be on the air if she had stayed. Everybody that I ever talk to says the show wasn't as good after she left, and I wholeheartedly agree!

hmmm interesting thought there Thrill but I think you may be a little off in the head. While Ms Bliss was indeed a true acting genius she did not make the show what it is! Screech and Violet were indeed the best characters on the show, they added the wild and zanyness that the show needed to survive in saturday morning primetime, and I also thought it was a shame that they got rid of Milo from the Ms Bliss years. He added a strong stable sidekick to Mr Belding. I think Ms Bliss just got too big for her britches (as I like to say) after winning two Cable Ace Awards for Saved by the Bell, and thought she could do better elsewhere.

The Show was on the Disney Channel and Hayley mills was a big draw at that time from the "Parent trap II" movie (1988-1989). The show lasted as long as it did, and when NBC bought the show, they had to change a whole lot of stuff around. Basically, the Miss Bliss year was a totally different show, but some of the same characters. Now you know why the Miss Bliss years were not on the Season 1 DVD. THEY JUST ADDED THE SAVED BY THE BELL TAG!

What is this prejudice that people have against British actresses? I thought we were past that kind of thing in this country! I honestly think that's the reason the producers got rid of her, because her acting talent was so far above that of the rest of the crew. Sure Mr. Belding and the original Max were comedic geniouses in their fields, but the rest of those losers could never hold a candle to Ms. Bliss. So can we please put this British-actress bashing to rest?! (yes, that means you Maxamillion)

Wo wo wo Thrill. Chill a minute. I have absolutely no problem with British actors. When they come on shows such as Saved By the Bell they bring down the whole childrens sitcom industry. So they basically had to repackage the whole show.

Stop making up rumors. There are no court papers of child molestation on the set of "Good Morning Miss Bliss," or "Saved By The Bell."

And the Coverup continues!! Of course there are not any papers Geek!!! It was a coverup settled out of court. It never went to court and charges were not filed!I know Max personally! Believe what you want but myself, Max, Franco Bario and Peter Engel know the truth.

What a liar you are Maxamillion! The lawsuit involved Zack's mom, not Miss Bliss. I think you already knew that but for some reason you have this vendetta against Miss Bliss and you'll do whatever you can to make her look bad. Get your facts straight next time.

For all those TRUE fans of Miss Bliss (who live in the Sioux City, Iowa area) she'll be appearing in the stage version of Hoosiers as Myra Fleener at the Civic Center November 2-8. I'm gonna be there and I'll be sure to post a review.

I think the show TOTALLY improved after the Miss Bliss years.

I don't think it's easy just to "settle" a child molestation charge outside of court. It's not possible. The victims parents will NEVER do that, unless the molester is Michael Jackson, or if they are just lying.

Stop making up such strong allegations. You don't want to get banned.

Fair enough Geek. I dont want to get banned and I will drop it. But I am not making this up and these are not allegations. I am a close friend of his wife Isabella and this is the story I have gotten. The parents did not cause a fuss because they are immigrants from Italy who did not want to jeopardize there future in America.

You GOT to be kidding me! When Miss Bliss was on there, that show was PURE GARBAGE!!! The original show (Good Morning Miss Bliss) aired on Disney Channel. However, the show didn't do too good after the season was over (I think after 11 episodes), and Disney Channel dropped it. Then NBC looked at the idea, and they revamped the show a bit (thus adding Kelly, Jessie, and Slater)! I think it was a helluva lot better AFTER her and the other dry looking kids (Nikki and the other guy) left!

P.S. It has NOTHING to do w/her being a British actress. I've like movies she's been in, but I just didn't like her on THIS show.

What you people seem to forget is that with Ms. Bliss the show was being groomed to be moved to NBC's Thursday night lineup to replace the Cosby Show. What became immediately evident (to Ms. Bliss and to viewers) was that they didn't give her the supporting cast to make the show a success. No wonder it was left in the graveyard of Saturday morning TV once she left. SBTB could've been bigger than ALF. Following is an excerpt from a TV Guide Fall Preview "Cheers and Jeers" section that I saved...

Quote:
"JEERS - To the producers of Saved By The Bell. How could they let an international talent like Hayley Mills get away? For a once-promising sitcom that had hit written all over it, Mills's departure has left a void that her fresh-faced replacements can't possibly fill. The new version makes Land of the Lost look like quality TV."
Need I say more?
