After pondering over Ralph Kramden, Archie Bunker, George Jefferson, I also think that Jack Tripper is the most memorable and greatest sitcom character.

I'll go with Jack Tripper as well. He was one of a kind.

As a runner-up, Bill McNeal of "NewsRadio". He wasn't the nicest character on television, but he sure was funny.

Oh, my God...I TOTALLY agree. Diane was such an original character. She could NEVER be replaced!

Jack Tripper is pretty close, though. He was the ONLY comedian who did physical comedy that could EVER get a chuckle out of me.

Mr. Ritter was a true talent, and he will be missed by all who love to laugh.
