Default One Harsh Critc

This is one of the most harsh critics that I have read reviews from. What do you think of this so-called critic?

I read that interview earlier today. That guy obviously doesn't know good tv. Three's Company also didn't get good reviews so 8 simple rules is in good company.

Good company, lol.

Yeah, I read that article earlier today. Irritated me at the time, but it's his loss if he can't find the humor in a great show.

This "critic" saw only two out of 30 episodes & thinks he has the right to critique it, let alone call it a "a vulgar, offensive, worthless piece of junk"?

That makes me mad !

Never kick a man when he's down, and you certainly don't kick him after he's passed on.

I don't care for the NY Post Critics anyway. Read the NY Daily News. Best critics in New York.

Default Well

Well, frankly, I think the article was honest. First of all, let me state for the record, I am not a John Ritter fan. I don't think he is a great actor or a great comedic performer. His claim to fame was "Three's Company", and I am sorry if I offend someone, but that was simply one of television's worst sitcoms. The fact that it ran for eight years is a mystery to me. There really hasn't been a decent sitcom on television in over twenty years, and "8 Simple Rules" did not raise the bar. First of all, when the show premiered, it was hailed as John Ritter's great and wonderful comeback. It debuted to exceptional ratings, but the ratings fell nearly as fast as they rose. I haven't heard anyone even talk about it until Ritter's untimely death on September 11. I am sorry to hear of his death, it is sad when anyone dies so young. I have sympathy for his wife and kids and family. However, it is unnecessary to exaggerate his talents as equal to that of Charlie Chaplin.

In my opinion John Ritter was one of the greatest tv comedians of all time and Three's Company was one of the greatest sitcoms of all times. I know people that don't like Chaplin but that doesn't mean he wasn't a great comedian. Tv critics have been trying to tell us (the public) what we should like for years. The only thing that matters is that . after more than 25 years since it premiered, Three's Company is being watched and enjoyed by a new generation and will be enjoyed for years to come. That is a definition of a classic. These critics didn't get Three's Company when it first came on and they still don't.

Mr. Roper, I whole heartedly agree with you. Three's Company is definitly a great classic and will live on for years to come. As for John Ritter, he was the best at everything he did and I'll stick to that till the day I die. He was to me as Frank Sinatra was to music, a never ending hero at his best to make people around him live to laugh like there was no tomorrow.
