Default NBC to LeBlanc: Lose Weight

Meaty Matt Needs a Trim Down
Matt LeBlanc has commented he's expecting things to tighten up around the set next year when his "Friends" spin off airs. NBC is expecting a little change from Matt as well. Worldwide Entertainment News reports that the network is asking "Joey" to trim off a few pounds before he makes his break to L.A.

NBC better worry about the plot of LeBlanc's new sitcom instead of his looks.

WHAT THE HECK!!!

Matt is cute and I think a little weight looks good on him

Why not worry about Matthew Perry's up-and-down-and-up-and-down-and-up-and-down weight battles instead. He looks worse than Leblanc does weight-wise

But Perry is not suppossed to be the stud that Matt is. I think he could stand to lose a couple pounds. I think his show will be over very fast.

I think Matt makes a cute cub.

Why doesn't the networks also issue statements to skinny actresses like Alyssa Milano, Courteney Cox (even tho I think she now looks much better than she did about 3-4 years ago, she looked worst in Scream 3), Calista Flockhart and Sarah Michelle Gellar that they have to GAIN 15-20 lbs? I don't get it, show some chub and it's a shame, but if you're too skinny, they see nothing wrong with that when IMO, it's probably more unhealthy to be too skinny. Calista has been thin since as long as I recemember, but Cox, Milano and SMG are three actresses who were attractive with a little weight on them, but they got skinnier and skinnier, and the networks don't consider it an emergency. But how dare someone like Matt Leblanc or Margaret Cho (who had a monologue about this in her stand-up movie) happen to weight a little more than the "average" and the networks force them to lose weight at all costs.

And people wonder why so many girls turn to anorexia/bulimia, because of the way the networks freak out about how being a little chubby is a crime, but if you're skinny as a stick, the network doesn't mind.

Just my rant

I was surprised about the article. I don't think there is anything wrong with the way Matt LeBlanc looks. As far as his show, I don't think it will last long either. I think that people are going to have high standards for his show. They will probably expect it to be like FRIENDS and if it doesn't turn out that way then it's definetly going to go down.

I think the chances of Matt's show is 50/50. I know people keep thinking Aftermash and Three's A Crowd... but also, remember Frasier? i don't think many people thought Kelsey's show would last 2 seasons, much less 11, equalling the run that Cheers had.

I think if they get a decent supporting cast, that the Joey spinoff might be a success.

But IMO Kelsey Grammer is a much better actor than Matt. Hopefully he can make a go of it though, his character needs to grow more though. I think Matt looks like he has put on some weight and the Network is paying him millions of dollars so if they think he needs to look a little sharper they have the right to say so.

They dont tell people to gain weight because the ideal look for women (even if its Wrong) is to be very thin.

Default Why not go after

why don't networks freak out over..
Kevin James (he's lost some weight and looks better already tho)
Mark Addy
Mike O'Malley (I think he is really cute when he's thinner. He was adorable in his Life With Roger days when he was more of a cub than chubby)
John Goodman (he is bigger now on West Wing than he was on Roseanne... and he wasn't skinny then either)
David Boreanez (look at him in the past 2 years, and compare him to his days on Buffy and the early Angel episodes.... he is really chubby now too, and he is supposed to be a "hunk")
Drew Carey

I'd say all of those are bigger than Matt Leblanc, and they're all stars of tv shows too. I do think David and Mike are attractive, but both of them are bigger than Matt and star on shows and the networks don't pressure them to lose 20 lbs.
