Default ...Just wondering

Ok the geniuses behind Cheers were Burrows, and the Glen Bros. but James Burrows went on to do more succesful sitcoms...how come Cheers and Frasier (who obviously both came from Cheers) lasted 11 seasons? For example: Friends is lasting 9, Will and Grace I think won't last more than 6, I forgot how long taxi lasted but i'm pretty sure is wasn't more than 6 or 7....

because they're better shows. i mean well that's not it. cheer was just that absolute perfect show (as we all know) and everyone loved it for 11 years (and probably wold have gone on loving it for many more) as for frasier i'm not sure if that would have lasted it cheers hadn't come first. loyal cheers fans tuned into frasier because it came from cheers so they already had tahat fan base for frasier. then eventually other people who hadn't watched cheers watched frasier and got to like it so it was more popular, that's really the only reason i came up with but i'm (obviously) glad that they did and are lasting that long, i hope will and grace lasts too! i love that show!

I think Taxi was 5 seasons.

Will and Grace.... the gay Cheers??

No offense to anyone, but its a GOOD (not the best, not one of my favorites) enssemble comedy.
I think it will last more that 6, its better than Friends.

AND, it has James Burrows behind the scenes.
Maybe it IS the gay Cheers.

Did James Burrows work on Friends??

Friends is NOT the Cheers of this generation.
CHEERS is Cheers of this generation.
And the next.

lol I have always said that!! Man I wanted to bash my tv in when they presented Cheers at the 75th anniversary and said that they were the "New Generation".

Btw tim I wasn't comparing Friends, taxi, or willgrace as if they were the same thing as CHeers...I was just comparing sitcoms that James Burrows is responsible for..

James Burrows worked on Friends?
must have been his slow years.

Cheers, Frasier, and Will & Grace are much better shows.
(although Im not a Will & Grace fan)

Can you explain to me how will and grace remotely even resembles Cheers?
