Default 1840

What does everyone think about 1840 thus far?

I'm really enjoying it. It's my favorite storyline since 1897. I love all the storylines and it has a 'spookier' feel to it that some of the previous storylines lacked. It has great acting. I love Virgina Vestoff. She was a great actress, IMO.

So far, I love the storyline. I agree with you about Virginia Vestoff. She seems great. The writers seem to have gotten better as time goes on. I can't judge though, since I've only watched the show since Kitty and Barnabas went into the portrait.

I love love love love LOVE this storyline thus far. Today's episodes were great. I can't wait to see what trouble Angelique is going to be stirring up.

They actually wear the styles of 1835 in the 1840's storyline.

This storyline has been getting better and better...it's probably (IMO) the best storyline since 1897. I love Angelique in this storyline, and I liked the flashback to Miranda that was on Friday's episodes. I also like Joan Bennett as Flora, since she usually plays the 'serious' characters on the show.

This is my first time seeing most of this storyline (I bought the first 10 1840 episodes from MPI). I started watching the show on February 4th, 2002 (the first episode I saw was the one in which Dr. Woodard was murdered), and have been hooked ever since.

The 1840 Storyline reminds of (believe it or not) Welcome Back KOtter. A mustach named Gabe!

I've loved the storyline from beginning to end...I'm sad to see it end. IMO, it's been the best storyline since 1897. There were so many new great characters in it...Samantha, Gabriel, Gerard, Daphne, Leticia...

I thought the ending between Angelique and Barnabas was sweet. Even though their new romance seemed a bit rushed, I still thought it was sad how she died right before he could tell her he loved her...

I'm looking forward to 1841PT. So far, I can tell I like many of the characters - especially Melanie. Morgan doesn't seem like a very interesting character to me yet - but that could easily change.

I love the scenes between Barnabas and Angelique today. They are the best couple on that show. I can't wait until the 1841PT storyline. I just wish Sci Fi would air the last 18 episodes before taking it off.

I honestly think this is my least favorite storyline. It wasn't as good as the before-1850 ones.

Dark Shadows has really come back to its roots as a gothic romance soap opera, which, IMO, is a very good thing. I'm loving it right now. I'm looking forward to knowing more about the locked room. I like the Daphne/Bramwell/Catherine/Morgan quadrangle.

Morgan is so annoying. I hate his character. He always pushes people around...I hate how he acts towards Melanie especially.

Melanie is my favorite character in this storyline. Nancy Barrett really shines in the role, but that's no surprise, since she's wonderful in every role she has on the show.

It's too bad Sci-Fi is dropping it after the next eight episodes *sighs*. I've bought the last episodes on VHS from MPI, but I think it's stupid for Sci-Fi not to finish the show. Maybe if they hadn't pre-empted the show so much, it could've gone all the way to the end.

I loved the 1840 sl it was my favorite I love Leticia,Desomnd-Nancy Barrett and John Karlan could play anything but always paired off best together.Of course I loved Angelique and Barnabas and Julia Flora,Quentin,Daphne etc.
Davis Selby(Quentin) could pair off with anyone.1841 was good too but the show ended there it would have been great to see it continue, for me the show got better as time went on.
