TVShowsOnDVD.com has close relationships with the production companies and the results of the voting are sent to the production companies periodically. This helps the production companies decide to release shows and shows how many people are waiting for a DVD release and also let's the production company know how people want shows released (season set, best of, individual) So voting DOES help and the production companies DO see the results. This is also written in the FAQ's section at TVShowsOnDVD.com.
