Default We Need A New Channel

I think it is time for another channel to join the channel line-up. Since the 1980's had a good era of television, we can have a channel for the 80's and 90's shows. TVLand and Nick @ Nite are getting so LAME.

Line-Up:
__________________________________________
5:00- The Cosby Show
5:30- Webster
6:00- Newhart
6:30- Benson
7:00- Cartoon Express
10:00- Silver Spoons

6:30- Different Strokes
7:00- Viewers Choice
7:30- Growing Pains
8:00- Family Matters
8:30- Its A Living
9:00- Night Court

I don't know if anyone would make a channel that mixed scripted entertainment with game shows.

If you have noticed, most if not all of shows that I have selected in the schedule are not airing currently. This would be a good time for a network to get started and "pick up" this schedule of shows.

You're welcome!

That's why I like it so much. It would be refreshing to have a channel that airs classic shows that haven't been seen by people in a long while. Get fans reaquainted, plus you can introduce them to new ones.

There's a channel here I've become hooked on that airs shows from the 60s through to the 80s, and it's great. Plus, there's The Alfred Hitchcock Hour, which is a nice bonus.

An 80s network would rock. It would need everything... cartoons, sitcoms, dramas, game shows... all kinds of stuff. I think it would be successful.

I agree completely. A few sitcom blocks, a game show block, a cartoon block on weekends (maybe weekdays) and dramas. It would rock. I'd watch. An all 80s network would be fantastic. Long overdue.

But, we also need another classic channel, with a few more shows from the '50s/60s not airing currently (at least not all eps) and some of the gems that haven't seen the light of day on cable (in the US) in ages. I'd watch both.

I agree completely as well. While I understand the position of the original poster, I don't think the 80's or 90's are in any way lacking in air time or representation right now. But I do believe the 50's & 60's are lacking (the 70's as well, but not as bad as the 50's/60's, IMHO).

Therefore, the only change I'd make to your suggestion is to keep the 70's shows limited, and focus even more on the 50's and 60's. I like alot of your shows, but I'd add just a couple more (also shows that aren't on the air right now, and in fact haven't been on the air in full runs for quite some time):

FATHER KNOWS BEST
THE FUGITIVE
VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA
LOST IN SPACE
DOBIE GILLIS
PETTICOAT JUNCTION
THAT GIRL

I'd put those show in place of a few of the 70's shows, but mostly because I've seen some of the 70's shows more recently than all of these.

I would like to see an 80s network also. The sitcoms from that era, have always been overlooked. BTW, ( tvfanfor1980's,) if you replace California Dreams, with Saved By The Bell, then your line-up will be perfect.

I think TVLand should break up into 3 seperate channels.

TVLand: The Dawn of Television (50s/60s)

TVLand: Far Out (70s)

TVLand: Modern TV Classics (80s)

and.... give N@N the 90s.
