How can a team like USC, who lost to a lowly team like Cal, be ranked higher than WSU, who blasted out Oregon in Autzen stadium (Eugene, OR)? Oregon was ranked #10 or 15 depending on which poll you look at, and beat Michigan, so doesn't that make WSU ranked higher than #10 now? If USC is still #10, then WSU must be #5. I don't get it. Isn't a 55-16, forcing 11 turnovers, in a hostile setting much better than losing in overtime to a unranked team? USC should have beaten Cal 55-16.
Even if you aren't familiar with the Pac 10 schools, WSU has about 20,000 students and Oregon has 30,000. There are other questionable rankings this week too. Guess we have to wait until the end of the season to see which team is really ranked propery. Just wish there was a less subjective way to rank teams. |
