Default JACK AND JANET : Brother and Sister or Boyfriend and Girlfriend?

Okay....I am hoping to settle this controversy once and for all. What did Jack and Janet most act like?? What would you have liked to see them as?

I think that the series was sprinkled with moments where J/J acted like more than just friends. (thinking end scene of 'Some Of That Jazz')

What do you think??

I would say brother and sister even though I will always believe they made the cutest couple. Jack and Janet had been through it all and were always there for eachother. They did go to the movies and places together but when they tried to date for real(In episode: Mate For Eachother) the romantic chemistry wasn't there. Was it hiding?? Who knows!! They loved eachother but I don't think were in love with one another. It's just my opnion!!

Usually it seemed they acted more like brother and sister, but there were times you really had to pay attention and it seemed like it was more than that. I really wished they would have gotten togther.

To me, they were more like a brother and sister or a pair of really good friends, especially in the Chrissy years.

They had a best friend relationship w/an opportunity of a Boy/Girlfriend relationship! I would have like to seen them married or getting together @ the end! Most of the time after Chrissy left the writters make them do/say things that would make the fans think there were feelings for each other!

Does anyone know if John or Joyce ever said anything about this question!?!? like in interview or something!?!?

They were more like brother and sister.

Jack was less "interested" in Janet and more into Chrissy, IMO.

You are so RIGHT! b/c when Chrissy was around, they (espcially Janet) acted more like her parents, mostly in the earliers episodes!

I agree LucyFan.

I always thought Jack had a crush on Chrissy also.

Brother and sister. I don't think that they would have hit it off as boyfreind and girlfriend, because as when they went on a date in "Mate for Each other",
they were pretty stiff with each other because they were not made for each other as boyfriend and girlfriend. Even though I think that Janet would of been a better choice that Vickie was as his live-in girl friend in "Three's a Crowd."

Jack and Vicky were too much alike and Jack and Janet personalities were different and would have made the show interesting.

I think the end scene of "Some of that Jazz" was a good friend moment. I didn't see anything about that moment that insinuated anything else. Janet was upset and Jack did what a good friend would do.

As for the original question of this thread, Jack and Janet would not have made a good couple. They acted more like brother and sister and they thought of each other that way. Like others have mentioned, they went along with their date in "Mate For Each Other" but the chemistry was not there. Though I didn't like the choice of Vicky for Jack, I don't think he belonged with Janet either, or any of his roommates for that matter.
