Tonight our beloved "Wings" returns...although in the humiliating graveyard timeslot of 3:30 AM. (At least I already have my VCR re-programmed....AGAIN!).
We've been bashing "Roseanne" so much around here that we seem to have forgotten that OTHER new NICK show that helped to drag "Wings" into the Vampire Hours...namely "Full House".... Going by what I've been reading on other message boards, it seems the general opinion that "Full House" may have been a "cute" show when it was new on ABC, but it has not aged well with the passing years and appears "hokey" today. Personally, I have more of a problem with "Full House" bumping "Wings" than I do "Roseanne"....at least "Roseanne", while no "WINGS", COULD be humorous and well-written at times. "Full House" just isn't in the same comedy league as "Wings", and it sure is no "classic"! Well, there IS one good thing about NICK's new shedule....This is more than likely going to be "Wings" last schedule move and timeslot....after this, like "Coach", the plug will be pulled and "Wings" will be taken out of it's NICK AT NITE misery, free to be shown on other stations at (hopefully) more decent times.... I don't know about the rest of you, but that day can't come too soon for ME! |

Full House has got to be my #1 most hated TV show (excluding reality shows and daytime talk shows. of course). I don't know how ABC kept that load of garbage on for nine years (or whatever it was on for) but cancelled the brilliant Sports Night after barely two whole seasons. Now it's coming to N@N
The sad thing is that when I was little, I thought this was a great show Now, I see the error of my ways.No offense to any Full House fans, but there are quite a few shows on TV that I really can't stand, and Full House is one of them. |

"Full House" is like one of those super-sugary, sickenly-sweet breakfast cereals....You thought that the stuff was great when you were a kid, but when you try to eat it as an adult, it makes you GAG! |

About "Full House"-
I'm not gonna say I hate the show. It was my favorite show when I was a kid. And yes, now it's way too cheesy. I would never watch it regularly, and I am very angry that a cheesy show like Full House could take precedence over Wings!

One thing we should remember about Full House is that when it was cancelled after 8 seasons in 1995, it was on Tuesdays at 8. What other show was on at 8 in 1995? That's right, NBC put Wings on at 8. So Wings helped kill Full House.

I guess we can all see what Full House is, lol. It also was a show I enjoyed as a kid, and I say that cos it wasn't even my fave show as a kid. I was more into adventure shows. But alas I also have seen the error of my ways. This makes one thing clear...Full House is a FREAKING kids show! Kids aren't gonna be watching Nick @ Nite. Maybe on a Friday night or something, but c'mon. Oh well. It's not like the intellect at Nick is something new to us, lol.

My desire to see "Wings" leave NICK is based entirely upon the series being immediately made available to other stations. I know that it seems strange for me to want this, but I just love the "WIngs" series too much to see it being treated like garbage filler....it deserves more dignity and better treatment than what it is currently getting. |

I agree. Wings deserves more respect. Hopefully, it will be released on DVD soon.
NewsRadio is another great comedy that never got the respect it deserved. I wish that show aired somewhere. |

To have the season boxed sets, then for the fans who love individual characters, have "WINGS:The Best of Lowell", "WINGS:The Best of Antonio", "WINGS:The Best of Helen", ect. like they do with "Saturday Night Live". I know I'd buy "The Best of Lowell" because I don't watch the non-Lowell seasons. Actually, I wish somebody would do a "Thomas Haden Church Boxed Set" with a few of his best movies sold together on DVD. They've done this with superhunks (not my opinion) Mel Gibson and Tom Cruise (those sets are usually produced for Wal*Mart). |

LOL, pilotguy...and me, I can't even remember Bud Bronski. That's how long it's been since I've seen those eps.

I think it was the mention of the bad vacuum cleaner episode that doesn't make me want to watch after Lowell leaves (it was bad enough that in that episode Joe pathetically cries over a trashed tangelo. Whatever happened to that therepist he was seeing?) Plus, from what I've seen of Budd, doesn't he look like some kind of football player with his big sholders and stuff? I wouldn't exactly classify him as a 'dumb mechanic', he's more like a 'failed jock taking a job as a mechanic because he can't play professional' type of guys. |

I can't watch too many of the episodes from the final two seasons. They are still better than just about any current sitcom though, and definitely better than Roseanne and Full House.
