Smile The One Thing You Would Change On An FOL Character...

I don't know... probably stop having Jo win against Blair in fights! Give Blair a chance, a fair share! Lol...

Jo is alot tougher than blair. blair is the type that can't fight she punched by sue ann. she got bullied by nancy with the ice cubes and nancy's not the type to bully. its only logical since when someone from a sheltered life like blair can beat someone from the bronx like Jo.

Well I think Jo yells alittle to much and Tootie is alittle over dramatic.

Blair: Maybe I'm benieth contempt not worth insulting...
Jo: Yes you are!
Nat: From now on it's Goodbye Natalie hello Hot Lips!

CD:Well lets find him and ask him.
Jinny: Sex could'nt have been that bad!

It would've been nice to see Jo smile just a little more often. She was ALWAYS in a bad mood. She also could've cut Blair a little more slack sometimes, especially when she was trying to help her.

For Blair, just once it might've been nice to see her not dressed perfectly, even when she was hanging around the house she always had to look perfect.

Tootie needed to be a lot less annoying in the earlier seasons. Very, very over dramatic.

I'm not sure I would change anything about Natalie. Except maybe make her a little bit less impressionable. Sometimes she seemed a little too willing to go along with things.

------------------
Jo:Blair, you always look so shique and yet so natural, I was thinking you could do somthing with my hair?
Blair:Yeah!Like wash it?
Jo:No!I was going for that brain less look you've got!

Nat:Who wants to be a skiny pencil?I'd rather be a happy magic marker.

Ms.G:Girls! Will you tell me what's been going on here?
Nat:Group sleep walking?
Ms.Ggives that"Idon't believe you"look)
Blair:Well, you know the first day of school getting settled in and meeting new people....
Tootie:Yeah!!And now comes Miller time!

I'd put Jo on Prozac and make her a little more compassionate. By the way, TVaddict, there was one episode I have seen in which Blair actually didn't look perfect (gasp!). It was in "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner," when Blair was sick.

Y'know how Jo hits Blair a couple of times....Well, I would love Blair to get mad one day and give Jo a black eye, that would be so funny!

Blair does srike back at Jo in episode #116. Dear Apple. That is the episode when Blair looks messed up and she is after Jo. In fact, the part with Blair coming up on Jo is footage that is used in the new opening for the 85-86 season.

Thumbs up

Very interesting topic to bring up. Even though I love this show, it could stand for improvements. I think the #1 change would be to give Tootie some actual ACTING lessons. She was definately OVER dramatic. I think she acted better when she was younger. I have to cringe at her not-so-convincing acting ability in the episode where she meets that black guy who fills the candy machine and gets her thinking about racial issues and she's having a Holy coniption fit in the kitchen with Mrs. Garrett. Anyway, that's something I'd have to change. Secondly, Jo needed to lighten up a bit. I know her character was supposed to be rough and tough and the big,bad stuff, but it was over done. She was just a street thug with a grudge against the world. GET AWAY FROM ME! I'M GONNA LOOSEN SOME TEETH! TAKE OFF WILLYA! I mean, really, take a pill. And FINALLY, the producers needed to tell Natalie (Mindy) to try and NOT to smile and laugh through her lines. Anyway, those are my bones to pick with the show. Other than that you could stick me in a room for 24 hours with a TV, VCR and a stack of FOL tapes to watch!

i kind of agree with you sort of. but that's just how the characters were written to be. but they could have made some of them lightin up a bit. but the thing about Mindy smiling, laughing, and smirking during her lines. We do have to remember that she was not a perfesional actress so she had to learn as she went along. and that was something that she needed to work on a bit moore. but she does get better as the show goes on.

Oh yeah, if we're going to start talking hairstyles, I almost forgot the all important wardrobe choices. There was definitely more than one occasion where I just had to be like, "oh, Jo, what were you thinking when you put THAT on?" And I'm not talking about army jackets or flannel shirts, I'm talking about those one piece powersuit things, very prominently worn in the spring break episode (among others) those were just HIDEOUS. Tootie wore them too. And of course, Blair's hair in the next few seasons. Starting with tonight's episode until like almost the end of the series, it's pretty bad. But we can't blame them, they were temporarily paralyzed by the decade known as the 80's. Poor girls never knew what hit them.

In arguing, Blair would come out on top sometimes. I've seen it happen. Blair wasn't that week. Someone mentioned that she was weak. Let's not 4get the time she was in the movie theater and decked that bully in the theater that harrassed her.
