Default We Are NOT Alone! (NICK-Related)

I checked out the "Three's Company" Sitcoms Online message board, and there is a new (and excellent) message posted regarding NICK AT NITE's "double standard"....

The message says that NICK refuses to air certain "Three's Company" episodes because they show or talk about people getting drunk or using pot.....however, they just aired a "Roseanne" episode where Roseanne, Dan and Jackie get stoned on 20-year old pot!

This "double standard" is something that we as "Wings" fans have been complaining about for months now....sure, "Wings" has people sleeping with people who are not their spouses...however, there is a LOT of that on "Roseanne" too!

(Teenaged Darlene moved in with her then-boyfriend and Roseanne's sister Jackie slept with any man who had a pulse....she was just as promiscuous as Brian Hackett!)

My problem really isn't with the "Roseanne" series as such...it's with NICK's different attitudes towards different series. It just seems like the more ratings potential a series has, the more "open-minded" and "free-spirited" NICK becomes.

The main problem with NICK is that the network doesn't know what it wants to be....It touts it's "wholesome family entertainment" image, but then it wants to be "cool and hip" by airing recent prime-time sitcoms from the 1990's....You can't have it both ways!
Just about EVERY recent sitcom (including "class acts" like "Frasier") is going to include SOME sort of scene or reference to unmarried people sleeping together.
If NICK wants to be part of the "recent sitcom" scene, then they're going to HAVE to loosen up and deal with situations such as these....

If they DON'T want to loosen up and they want to remain "wholesome" and family-oriented, then they'd best stick with older sitcoms like "Bewitched", "My Three Sons" and the like....

NICK, it's time to CHOOSE!

Great point, Pilotguy! I hate double standards. N@N needs to make up its mind on what it wants to air.

And speaking of double standards, does this mean that N@N won't be airing the episode where they are held hostage by terrorists? They took out the terrorist references on Wings.

can I just say that I think it's completely stupid that they have to edit out terrorist references in TV shows. Come on! the terrorist attacks happened over 2 years ago! 2 YEARS! I could understand them doing that or the first year, or firs 6 months or so, but I really on't think there's any need for that anymore.
But that's just me. Sorry if I offended anyone...

ITA Krista! It's ridiculous for them to keep it up this long, or at all. One problem I have, and I've even had it since 2001 is The USA is a democracy, and we're supposed to have freedom of speech. Well, we have heavily participated in what we accuse many countries of the "east". Propaganda, censorship, and not letting certain things air on tv or the radio because it's not "appropriate". These stations are owned by corporations who have a puppet in the White House. Appropriate to who? We need discussion and dialogue about everything in America and elsewhere. People need to broach politically incorrect topics. I think the government, and many people in this country are a bunch of chicken$*%ts.

Question N@N double standard

Considering the timeslot of Wings on N@N I don't think the "sleeping with people who aren't their spouses" should apply. I know this is not related but consider Friends which is on at 8:00!!!, don't get me wrong I love the show Friends but they certainly do a lot of sleeping around.

Also, I think its time to maybe make a switch with the Cosby show on N@N, I like the show but I think they have been through the episodes about 4 times now.
