Birthday Threads - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Is there some explanation as to why nearly all the birthday threads lately have been posted one day early? Personally, I think that takes some of the shine off of the special day. Why not wait until the real birthday arrives? I don't get it. What's the rush? Are we afraid the birthday boy or girl is going to die, or worse yet, leave the SO boards, lol, one day before the big day?

I did them a day early because I wanted to give everybody a chance to wish them a happy birthday.

I know what happened. A month or so ago, you began posting the birthday threads a day early. As I told you in a recent PM, I think it's because I was posting them all the time. As soon as I saw that you, and a few others, began posting them a day early, I stopped posting birthday threads. I can certainly take a hint. You could have even PM'd me and asked me to stop posting them. I would have understood. Posting a day early was a clumsy solution.

The sincere truth is that I thought I was being thoughtful by posting them. I'm usually on at midnight when the new birthday list appears, so I figured it would be nice to post them at midnight for the morning and afternoon members.

I should have realized that others wanted to post them as well. I don't post them anymore and haven't in a month, so it may be a good idea to wait until the person's actual birthday.
It's better that way.

I never thought of that, but it makes sense. Its stupid though.. who cares who makes the threads?!?! You did an excellent job, and ya.. birthday wishes should be made the day of unless the birthday boy/girl announced they were going on a trip or whatever.

I thought is was nice that you took time out to wish members a Happy Birthday and I did wonder why you stopped.

Well if it matters, just for the record, you've always been my favorite Birthday Poster, Janice. You never seemed to skip a member and you were always very thoughtful

I never thought of it that way. I wouldn't ask anybody to stop posting birthday threads. Now that I have seen other people's perspectives on this issue I think it is a good idea to do it on the person's birthday. I know I won't anymore.
