Default Hollywood curiosities...

How come the most popular superstars are really, really skinny? Are they all anorexic?

It's not only the superstars who are really, really, really skinny, it's the wannabes who practically starve themselves to maintain their skeletal shapes. At one time, it was a look reserved mainly for fashion models, but in recent years, actresses have seemed to be living by the adage that one can't be too rich or too thin.

Some, yes, are anorexic. I know many who have been bulimic. And then there are the countless female Hollywood names who not only stay on dangerous food regimes but work out for as many as four to six hours a day.

Why are they really, really, really skinny? Because that's the fashion statement of the moment. Marilyn Monroe would have been an absolute chubby by the standards of today.

A topic I found on a ask so and so column, and this to me is one of the biggest controversies of females today!Interesting, and true!

I dont know I mean I cant really talk because I"m not FAMOUS (heehehe YET) BUT I am really skinny and I dont have a eating disorder its just that I have good metabolism so maybe some of these stars are the same way? I mean we cant JUDGE them and say just because they are skinny they have a eating disorder *laughs* dont mind me though I just HATE IT when People got Judge

Skinny people make me sick. There is a big difference between being skinny and being thin/slim. If youre skinny youre bones are sticking out, and it makes me want to throw up. Its nasty to see your ribs.. get some meat! Laura Flynn Boyle is skinny. Kate Moss is skinny. Britney Spears is slim. Christina Aguilera is slim.. shes tiny, but she does have some meat- she just has a small frame. Why anyone would want to be that thin boggles my mind. And I hate hearing girls saying how fat they are when theyre a size 4. Get over it! Yes, I know you have to look good with the peers and everything, but its ridiculous when you hear: 'Oh! I cant eat that slice of pizza.. Ill just have a water' Eat the damn slice! Meangya, its not like youre eating Papa Ginos out dry.

It's who they are. Most of the time it's just a coincidence.Look at someone like Wanda Sykes or Anna Nicole Smith.Big stars who actually are BIG stars.Models on the other hand are anorexic.

Yea,but I don't disagree with anyone being small, just the ones who think they have to be small to fullfill an image,I'm not big myself but it's definitly not by choice,I'm getting older though so my metabolism is changing which causes me not to consume as much food as I did when I was burning it all up!

Wanda Sykes isn't big,she's busty.

Hollywood and the media push it - not all guys are lookin for that (laraflynnboyle looks scary as heck too me - freaky bone-girl!!!) so I really dont understand who they are trying to appeal to?

i was reading somethin in FHM where some actress former NFL cheerleader was saying they had a 2 pound leeway - if they went over they got benched!!

some people just have that metabolism - i'm tall and skinny, but all i do is stand there and be skinny. Oh and sometimes bump into things.

I am very skinny.. ( ask Melissa..) but, I eat, I try to gain weight.. it just happens. Some people have faster metabolisms then others... They cant help it for the most part. But, I dont understand how some can go without food for days. Thats insane.

Hi, "Shorty!" Until my late teens, I could eat all day long and couldn't gain a pound. Then I was on a nice plateau for years and years where no matter how much or how little I ate, I was always 170 lbs. Now I'm at 185 and could gain ten pounds a week easily, just by eating as much as I want. This is pretty typical of most people. Most people who don't have a weight problem when they're young, develop one in their mid 30s.
