Default New Teen Queen in the runnings!

Teen Queen Raven moving up in the derby
The Hollywood Exclusive

Watch out, another teen queen is moving up fast. Raven, formerly the "Cosby Show" kid known as Raven Symone – and currently the Disney Channel's reigning It Girl since the departure of Hilary Duff – has closed deals for not one, but two features.

She tells us she may shoot them back-to-back during her series' seasonal hiatus some six weeks from now.

"All American Girl" will have the gifted 17-year-old comedienne playing a teen who saves the president of the United States from a freak accident and becomes a national hero overnight, much to her bemusement.

Raven's also set to star in a remake of the musical "Sparkle."

And "I've just signed with Buena Vista Records, and I'm collecting songs right now to do my third album. There's also going to be a soundtrack album for 'That's So Raven,'" she says.

"Disney has been very, very good to me, all the way through, in all sections of the company. The synergy there is beautiful," comments the show business veteran.

She got into the "All American Girl" mindset recently when she sang at a White House T-Ball event, and enjoyed chatting it up with the president and First Lady.

"They were wonderful and so warm," she says. "I was like, 'Let me take some notes real quick.'"

She insists she doesn't feel undue pressure with it all.

"Before this show, I was on 'Hangin' With Mr. Cooper,' and I'd tape Friday, then go out on tour Saturdays and Sundays. From age seven to 11, I was doing that each year. I've had a very busy life my entire life, and it's been a good and healthy life."

How about time for a boyfriend?

"That's personal," she says, laughing.

"That's so Raven",often the networks highest rated sitcom."The Cheetah Girls"-The highest rated Disney Original ever!Ratings
recorded,it was viewed in over 3.75 mill. homes, which made it the most watched telepic of the night, and beat out Hilary Duff's "Cadet Kelly"(2.79 mill.)!That's right count on Raven to win high ratings all the time, she's a hidden talent waiting to happen!Raven says "I'm just the girl next door,I've always been there, but now you really see me" She cares alot about her family, career, peers, education, and her enviorment, she shows it everyday! She's a Radio Disney spokesperson and is also the ringleader for "making a diffrence day" Oct. 25, 2003!

I can't wait until this movie comes out! There are people doubting her role and success in it already I think she will do great!

I read that book...it was a good book.

Ok...as for all that doubt...while I know she's a good actress...I have problems picturing her in this role.

First of all...wasn't the character like...a redhead? Not that that really makes much of a difference.

However, the character is this artist...ska-obsessed...black clothes wearing kinda chick. I think Raven is more bubbly and bold and colorful...I can't picture her playing something other than that. So that means that they're either gonna change the character to be more like Raven (which annoys me b/c the character was good in that book) or they're gonna change Raven. While I like her and she DOES have talent...I can't see her doing this part. And I don't think she'd be very believable playing a character like that...after everyone has gotten used to her from That's So Raven...I mean...that's a BIG jump...and I honestly don't think she'd be able to pull off that look.

I believe it's called acting...no offense meant here but I have faith in her as a well-respected teen actress, she has that transitional thing about her, bubbly is the characters she plays for holding the attention of her younger viewing audience, she will do well, almost everyone's seen her go from, mean to sweet to straight up snobby, why not "dark sarcasm",but I do agree it will be painful watching her be calm

LOL to the calm part. As for the acting part, I have no doubt in my mind that she can't act...however I still can't picture her playing that kind of role. I mean you wouldn't see Freddie Prince Jr. as a guy that...eats ppl. Bad example...he can't act. OK...you wouldn't see...Nicole Kidman in...Bringing Down the House. It's just not her personality. Even tho I've seen her on SNL and she's great with the comedy...she still wouldn't pull off a role in Bringing Down the House. I REALLY can't see Raven playing this part...but who knows...maybe I'll be suprised.

I hope she slams Hilary Duff out of the runnings.
