I've heard Lucille Ball and I Love Lucy mentioned on several tv shows and movies and song and stuff. I thought we could all name were you heard something like this on other shows. Just to name a few...
1. Pretty Woman--They show a clip of "Lucy's Italian Movie" 2. Golden Girls--One time a guy asked Blanche if that was her true hair color and she said "yes" and Dorothy said something like "Yea, yours and Lucille Ball's" 3. On Nickaloadeon "The Fairly Odd-Parents"-- The babysitter is flipping through channels and she sees "I Love Wanda" 4. Tim Mcgraw's song "Where Were You"-- It said "Did you turn off that old violent movie and turn on I Love Lucy reruns?" 5. My friend has the "The Simpsons" version of the board game "Clue" and one of the places on the board is "Krustylu Studios" 6. Rat Race--They have the bus of Lucys ![]() 7. My dad got tickets to a Paul McCartney concert and I don't realy listen to his music...I like rap and hip hop and country and other stuff, but it was cool because when he sung "Lady Madonna" they showed pictures of alot of women who acclompished things and they showed Lucille Ball...along with like Princess Diana and other women. Lucy is mentioned alot today...where else have you heard it mentioned???

Wow, thanks for posting all of those! I'm going to download that Tim McGraw song now, just to hear the Lucy mention.
Here's a few more.1. In "The Golden Girls," Rose and Blanche watch an I Love Lucy marathon in one episode. They have a really funny conversation, but I don't know it word for word. 2. The ghost of Lucy McGuillicuddy Ricardo Carmichael (they forgot Carter and Barker, lol) visits Lisa in "The Simpsons." I thought the way they presented her, as being a chain smoking old lady was kind of rude, but it's nice that they atleast mentioned her. I know that there's a lot more Lucy mentions in The Simpsons besides that one. 3. Fran watches I Love Lucy the night before her wedding on "The Nanny." That's all I can think of right now, but there's millions of Lucy mentions.

![]() In one of the Crocidille Dundee movies, Mick walks into a hotel room, turns on the TV, and ILL is on. He says something like, "This was on last time I was here."

Paul Reiser does the "Lucy I'm home" line from time to time, and a lot of people use "Lucy..." Or the "You've got some 'splaining to do" line. It even crops up in British shows from time to time, and ILL is far from mainstream over here. Will And Grace mention Lucy occasionally too - in fact at times I think Grace's entire character is based around a bad attempt at a Lucy impersonation!
I think you'd be hard put to find a single American sitcom that hasn't referenced ILL at least in some way. It's a reference that you know everybody is going to get though, isn't it. A lot of pop culture stuff will not be understood by at least a small percentage of your audience, but an ILL line everybody's going to get, unless they're Adam Adamant or something.

Yes, all those were great, i noticed the Simpsons, James L Brooks is a fan, The Gilmore Girls, many mentions there, the writer is a fan also, and Will and Grace do it also. Whe Grace was wearing a 50's style dress, Karen saw her and asked where Fred and Ethel were!

The only one out of those that I've seen/heard in Tim McGraw's song! I was soo surprised and happy when I heard that. I don't even listen to country music, I was with my friend and we were riding in her car and it was on and when he said that I was like, ahhh! lol
In Home Alone 3, at the very end there's this crook is hiding in the doghouse, and the parrot rides in on the toy car and says, "Lucy, I'm Home!" lol! I also heard from another Lucy board that in an episode of the muppets, Miss Piggy mentions something about Desi Arnaz! woot! go Desi!! lol Hmm..I think that's all I've heard.. |

I'll mention some that I don't think anyone else mentioned yet...
The Simpsons- Moe had oysters that he thought looked like Lucille Ball. Gilmore Girls- My friend is a huge fan of this show, so she always tells me if there's Lucy mentions. I think she said once the mom was wearing Lucy pajamas. There's a lot of references on The Nanny too, like when Mr Sheffield says, "You and Ethel going to steal John Wayne's footprints?" and in other episodes people are watching Lucy and stuff. My chemistry teacher always says, "Somebody 'splain to me," lol. One of my friend's history teachers has a Lucy magnet on her file cabinet, and the assistant principle down in the middle school is a big Lucy fan, so her office is full of Lucy stuff. Crazyredhead, I missed that part on Home Alone 3! That's cool! I'll have to watch it again and pay attention.

Last night The Gilmore Girls premiere had a Ricky Ricardo mention, as a new father did not want to know the sex of his new baby, like Ricky did not back in the 50's.
