Default How long have you been watching?

I'm somewhat new to this message board and I'm sure a lot of you have already answered this question a few times, but I want to know how long you have been watching Wings? I, myself have been watching for about seven years and probably have seen each episode at least 6 times, thanks to the USA network. Wings is the only show I have liked enough to want to see each episode and I don't think I will ever get tired of watching the show.

I watched Wings on NBC from about mid 1995 to the end of the show, but I watched it regularly on USA.

I can never get tired of it either

I am PROUD to say that I (think) I am the only true veteran on this board. I started watching Wings on April 19, 1990 when episode one premiered on NBC!

Most on this board already know that, but I just feel so honored to be able to say it. I’ve already said this, but I was a fan of Cheers, I knew the folks behind Wings had worked on Cheers so that appealed to me and when I started seeing previews of the show being advertised by NBC, it just looked good, so I figured I’d give it a shot. I loved it from the first episode and never quit watching.

I do find it interesting that most on this board were introduced to the show on the USA network, while I hardly ever saw it there, but when it came to Nick I was thrilled and started watching all over again.

I am very glad that 6 years after it left the air it is still gaining new fans thanks to USA and now Nick. Now I just want my Wings DVDs!!

Yeah, losthighway I think you are the only one who's been watching from the beginning. At least from what I've seen here on this board...you're lucky.

I first saw Wings in March '93, and loved it since. I did get tired of it after Joe and Helen got married. I thought the characters changed somehow, and it wasn't as funny, and that the writing wasn't as interesting or something, but I still watched it...to the end. And I really enjoyed it on USA because they would show it so often, and the older eps ran a lot too.

So, after it went off the air I kind of let the show go for a while. I was way into X-Files at that point and completely obsessed with it. My interest in Wings sparked back immediately last spring when I just happened to flip the channel to Nick one night well into the marathon. I missed most of it. I have been watching it regularly since.

One cool thing recently that happened was I was moving. So, I was going through all my video tapes. Some of them were not labeled, so I was popping them into the VCR to finally mark what was on them. The first thing that showed up on one tape was the pilot ep of Wings. WOW, was all I could think. I hadn't seen it, or even thought of it in years, and there it was. I'd totally forgotten I'd taped it! It's like going into your attic and finding some cool thing you've forgotten you own.

As many of you know, I'm a late bloomer to "Wings". I started watching it strictly by accident...I was channel-surfing when NICK'S "Wings" marathon was on. I happened to tune in about 10 minutes into the episode with Joe and Helen's wedding....

I thought to myself, "Any show that can have a guy getting married in his underwear while sitting on a bathroom floor with his hand stuck in a toilet is definitely different and worth checking out!" ...

Then I watched a few more episodes and that was it...I was HOOKED!

and I, like pilotguy, didn't start watching Wings until this past March when it started on Nick@Nite.

Well, I actually used to watch The Cosby Show every night on N@N (until I saw all the episodes a few times and got sick of it. lol), so anyway, while watching that, I saw Nick@Nite's commercial for the Wings marathon, and I was annoyed at the time because the Cosby show wasn't going to be on for a week. lol! but anyway, I remember thinking, "yeah, I remember that show..." But I didn't really have any desire to watch it, at first. See, in Wings' first run on NBC, I was only between the ages of 8 and 15. hehe. I do remember watching it once in a while because my parents watched it, but so far, I haven't seen any episodes that I actually remember seeing back then. I remembered all of the characters though from back then (except for Joe. lol).
But anyway, I think one night last Spring, I had nothing else to do so I decided to watch some Wings. I saw a couple of episodes during the marathon, and with each episode, I became more and more interested in the show. But I didn't actually start watching regularly until really the middle of the second season. I saw random episodes from season one and the beginning of season two, and then I finally realized that I LOVED this show, and I HAD to watch it every night! lol.
and the rest is history. lol!

sorry if that was long-winded. hehe.

I used to watch "Wings" every now and then when it was on NBC, though I wasn't a regular viewer from the beginning. I really liked the show, and was in agony waiting for the season premiere after the episode where Joe and Helen end up in bed together! Strangely enough, I didn't watch it on USA, but started getting really into the show when it came to N@N, especially when it was during its 11:00 time slot.

I'm a newbie to Wings, and I love the show more with every episode. I also love Cheers. Maybe it's the Massachusetts connection.
I think Wings is clever and very very funny, yet I'm sure Nick@Nite will ruin it.
Last year I discovered and fell in love with Coach. Now it's in the basement of timeslots.
Something tells me the same thing is going to happen with Wings.

I didn't start watching Wings until it came on USA in the afternoons. I think that was like 1995? I'd watch it after work every day. For some reason I never saw it on NBC... I was watching the old eps on USA while new ones were airing on NBC. I didn't see most of the new eps until they aired on N@N.

Love,

Wing<><
