Tequila Sunrise

okay. I felt like writing a fanfic. I have a vague idea how I want this to end but had no idea how to start....

CDDeLorenzo: okay, can you do me just one favor? I have no idea how to start, please give me the first sentence and I'll go on from there
Cate Pike: urgh?
Cate Pike: me drunk
Cate Pike: can't think of anything
CDDeLorenzo: no matter what
Cate Pike: ok. trees are blue.
CDDeLorenzo: ehhhh
Cate Pike: what? you wanted a sentence
CDDeLorenzo: lol oookay
Cate Pike: trees are blue is a perfectly right sentence
Cate Pike: well gramatuically
Cate Pike: and if you give me a bucket of paint
Cate Pike: I'll sen doyu a pic of a blue tree
CDDeLorenzo: lol that's fine. I'll start like that

So the first sentence belongs to my wonderful friend Barb and the Division belongs to DJL and I own a new jacket that I totally love.



TEQUILA SUNRISE

"Trees are blue." Nate said as he downed another Tequila.

"Excuse me?" CD said and looked at him. She had just walked in and saw him with his ex-partner Toni and some other of his old buddies from vice at a table. She figured she'd say hi and had walked up.

They all started to laugh at that. "Drinking game..." Nate managed to bring out and as he signaled the waiter for another glass he scooted over a little and pulled CD down so she sat next to him. "Hey everybody, meet my new and charming partner Candace. But don't call her that. Let alone Candy. She goes by CD." He introduced her to them.

"Hey CD." They all cheered in unision, having heard about her plenty already.

Nate grinned and introduced the others. "You already know Toni." The two women smiled at each other and shook hands when Nate wrapped his arm around CD's neck and resting it on her shoulder, a drink in his hand, pointed at the others. "Vincent, Lawrence, Sean, Bruce, Mickey..." That guy was wearing a Mickey Mouse tee-shirt so it was pretty obvious where his nickname came from, "... Bear and Don."

"Hey all." CD smiled as she looked at them. It was obvious that they had been playing their drinking game for a while already. And as far as looks went they all couldn't be more different from each other. Vincent looked like a nice guy next door, brown hair, green eyes, an innocent smile all over his face. Next to him Lawrence, he was wearing a Harley Davidson shirt, leather jacket, with long dark hair, beard and Ray Ban in front of him on the table. Sean was like some people would probably imagine a typical guy with Irish heritage, reddish hair and freckles all over his face. Bruce's name actually was Jason, but he looked exactly like Bruce Willis, so that explained that. When Mickey extended his hand to shake her own CD saw that he also was wearing a Mickey Mouse watch. She gave him a small smile and figured he probably was wearing Mickey Mouse briefs as well. Bear was a big black guy who looked like he could be a successful football player and Don was a blonde sunnyboy in a Hawaiian shirt who probably spent every free second at the beach, riding waves.

When Toni noticed that suddenly CD was the center of their attention she decided that it was time to continue. "Nate." She nudged him. "Your turn."

"I said 'Trees are blue.'" he repeated and smirked.

Then a waiter put a glass in front of CD and Nate filled up all the empty glasses again.

"Ohh... no, no no." CD protested. "Apart from the fact that I have no idea whatever you're doing here, I just wanted to say 'hi'. I have a date here."

"Oh really? Have fun then." Toni said, not minding at all that she'd be the only woman again.

"Then wait here until he gets here." Bear said though.

"Yeah. Nate told us so much about you, we wanna get to know you sunshine." Don grinned at her.

"Definitely." Sean agreed. "Wait with us."

"Yeah, you can play a couple of rounds until your guy shows up, I bet he won't mind. He'd just try to fill you up anyways. He's gonna be happy when you're tipsy already, cause then he's gonna get laid sooner." Lawrence said and laughed. "Come on lady."

Vincent just grinned and looked down while Nate curiously eyed CD. "You didn't even tell me you have a date! How come you didn't tell me you have a date? Who's that guy?" He inquired.

"I uhhh I don't know actually. Magda persuaded me like an hour ago. His name is Juan and he's her cousin's sister's husband's best friend or something." CD shrugged.

"Ooooh blind date." Toni grinned and then an engine sounded loudly and they all looked out of the window to see a red BMW convertible pull up. The license plate read 'Don Juan' and the guy who got out looked worse than any pimp they'd ever seen.

lmao, I wasn't planning on posting more right now, but thanks for the dances. And I wanna see ya triple dance, so here's some more. And I honestly think that I never wrote anything that makes less sense before this fic. lol though the not making any sense at all anymore part is the next part lol

"Oh my god." CD muttered upon that.

"If I were you I'd beat up Magda." Nate chuckled.

"Oh I will." CD hissed and everybody laughed.

"Well have fun on your date then." Toni smirked as Juan walked in and the waiter put down more drinks on their table.

Just acting on impulse Nate took two of them and walked up to the guy. "Hey, you must be Juan."

"Yeah." He gave him a weird look, wondering what that guy would want from him. But Magda had said they all hang out at that bar after work and considering himself the hottest guy since Casanova he was certain she must have been talking about him constantly.

Holding out the drink to him Nate winked. "Magda already told me so much about you. You can call me CD."

He stared at him in disbelief. He couldn't fathom how Magda would set him up with another man. "I gotta go." He just stuttered before hurrying off again. As his wheels screeched and he drove off again Nate walked back to their table.

They looked at him surprised too and then burst out laughing hard. Nate bowed and sat down again and offered the drink to the tall blonde woman who happened to be his partner.

"So you like to be called CD, huh?" She chuckled as she accepted the drink from him.

"Only in emergencies." He clinked his glass against hers and they both took a sip.

"So now that your lame excuse stormed off you gotta stay." Lawrence smirked at her. She seemed like a nice woman and from the way Nate looked at her he knew that even though he'd never admit it, he was under her spell and like he just proved, he'd do anything for her.

"Yeah." Nate smirked at her. "You owe me now because I rescued you from that prick."

"What? No way, you see that the wrong way!" She protested but grinned, glad about that stunt he had pulled in order to 'save' her. "YOU owe ME. I was looking forward to a nice evening with an ... uhm... interesting man and you scared him off." She pointed at him and then took a sip of her cocktail.

"Yeah my friend, she's right, that means now you owe the lady a date." Vincent smiled at them.

"They're partners." Toni said right away at that. "Nate doesn't date his partners!"

"You must know." Don laughed.

"Yeah but then again she isn't her. Just because he didn't date our buddy Toni here doesn't mean he'd spurn a fine rack like CD here, eh?" Lawrence winked at him.

CD growled. "If any of you actually want me to stay... I am NOT a sunshine, rack, chick or whatever else. And let alone a nice lady!"

"Yeah baby." Bear laughed and high fived Lawrence while all the others laughed too.

Nate shook his head and wrapped his arm around her again. "They don't mean it like that. Blame the Tequila but I can assure you they're all nice guys and no matter what they say it's just having some fun and not sexist, okay?"

CD couldn't help but smirk herself. The guys at the felony division were way too scared of her and all the other women so they'd never make fun like that. And somehow she enjoyed it to be seen as a woman instead of a tough cop. "Okay, but I can assure you that in case I break any of their noses or other body parts tonight that in no way that's a sexist action, but just having fun from my side."

"Deal." He laughed and the others joined in again. They already liked her loads and had accepted her as one of them.

what can I say? I always do what I shouldn't do. LOL know this one? "I know I shouldn't but I'm me!" That totally suits me.

Toni rolled her eyes slightly. "So are we gonna continue now or what?"

"Alright let's see..." Sean spoke up. "Tres blue... trees are tall!" At that he knocked back his tequila and a second one right after that.

Vincent and Don started to knock on the table at that while Toni and Mickey applauded.

CD just frowned. "Okay, could somebody please explain this game to me?" She laughed.

"Well let's see... the goal is to get drunk up your ass. And in order to achieve that you just need to say something that doesn't actually make sense even though it has to make sense compared to whatever else has been said somehow." Nate explained and they all laughed and emptied their glasses.

CD frowned even more at that. "I still don't get it. That doesn't make sense."

"She doesn't get it." Toni rolled her eyes. "How much easier can rules get blondie, huh?"

"Hey watch it!" CD glared at her.

"Hey girls. Cool it!" Bear said. "I guess in order for this to make sense you need to catch up with our Tequila level a little." He chuckled and motioned at her still full glass. "But seeing you didn't drink you'll have to down three more as fine anyways."

"Since when do we have a fine?" Mickey asked.

"I said she has to drink three more as fine so we have a fine." Bear gave Mickey a look.

Nate laughed again. "See? It perfectly makes sense." He winked at CD.

"If you say so." She laughed herself and knocked back the shot of Tequila and without blinking the three fine shots followed as well.

"You go girl!" Nate cheered her on and the others cheered in agreement.

She chuckled and even though the rules still weren't quite making sense to her yet she was having fun. Mainly though because she was so close to Nate and she was having fun whenever he was around, no matter what was going on.

LOL I like all the triple dancing here! And as for the 'game' uuuuh.... I thought it wouldn't even make sense lol. At least it doesn't make sense to me, and I'm the one who 'invented' it lol. But they have an even funnier game later

"My turn." Don said and raised his glass and winked at CD. "CD is tall."

"Wow you noticed that?" CD said sarcastically and the others laughed again.

"Hush, it's part of the game." Nate filled up her glass again and then Don's. "Here, drink, fine." Nate smirked at CD again.

"God I suck at this. I get fined incessantly." But she emptied the glass and Nate right away filled it up again.

"We didn't even have fines before you came." Toni glared at her. Usually the guys were filling her up, wanting to prove she could never drink them under the table. But she had never given up even though so far she hadn't won a single time. "CD's a tall blue tree!" Toni announced and drank her shot.

"I'm not!" CD protested right away, starting to feel the alcohol in her system already too.

"FINE!" Toni yelled and glared at her.

"Go fine yourself!" CD glared back.

"That's gonna get interesting." Lawrence whispered to Vincent who nodded and grinned.

"Fine for the females." Vincent then announced and motioned the waiter to bring them another bottle because he emptied the other one into CD and Toni's glasses.

Still glaring at each other the two women drank the Tequila.

Holding the empty bottle still Vincent grinned at CD and then put the bottle down in the middle of the table, lying on the side. "How about a new game?"

"You got to be kidding!" Toni protested.

"No seriously... the adults rules though." Vincent said.

"I'm in." Lawrence laughed. "The bottle points at you and you can decide, kiss or Tequila shot. If both decide on the booze it's one shot, but if only one decides on the booze it's one shot for the one who wanted to kiss and three for the one who wanted the booze."

"Bring it on!" Bear reached for the bottle.

"No no no, ladies first." Bruce stopped him.

"Alright." Toni agreed now and reached for the bottle and started to spin it.

CD laughed. "I got to be dreaming this. This is like highschool all over again."

"Yeah, minus skipping school though." Nate added. "Ya know, a very wise man always said 'The best thing about being an adult is that you can behave like a kid and don't have to fear consequences."

"Said who?" Toni asked.

"Me." Nate smirked.

"The wise Nathan Basso... who hasn't heard his notorious tales already?" CD laughed and the others joined in.

The bottle stopped pointing at Sean. "Booze" he and Toni exclaimed at the same time and drank their Tequila. Then it was Sean's turn and the bottle stopped pointing at Lawrence. They both decided to drink as well. The same when the bottle stopped on Bruce now.

Then he spun it and it stopped pointing at CD. "Jackpot!" He exclaimed and made a kissy face.

CD laughed and decided the hell with it, either Nate wouldn't care, or better yet she could get him jealous maybe. "Alright c'mere." She leaned over the table and gave him a quick peck on the lips. Nate slightly growled when everybody cheered at that.

When the bottle was turning again it stopped at the only person who was not hoping for a kiss from CD: Toni. Of course the guys, all but Nate, started to chant "KISS KISS KISS!" right away.

"I'm so not drunk enough for that yet." Toni said and CD agreed so they both drank their shots and the guys hoped that if the bottle would stop for a CD/Toni constellation again they'd be more filled up by then.

But after that neither Toni nor CD 'won' again for quite a while. The most frequent pairing was Vincent/Bruce. The bottle had pointed at the other one again and again nine times in a row already. "One more and I'll kiss ya baby." Bruce joked.

Vincent laughed and agreed. No one had expected the bottle to point at Vincent again but it did. And of course now everybody was cheering for that kiss and they leaned over the table, kissed quickly and after that downed a Tequila anyways. The others laughed and all knocked back one too.

The next spin pointed at Nate and it was his turn for the first time. They both wanted booze and Nate set the bottle in motion again. It stopped between CD and Toni.

Everybody laughed again. "Kiss em both." Don called out.

CD and Toni looked at each other and got up and kissed him on both cheeks at the same time and then sat down again.

Nate smirked broadly. He hadn't even noticed that Toni had kissed his other cheek, but he was still feeling CD's lips. "I'm starting to like this game." He announced and his buddies laughed but the girls rolled their eyes.

"Your turn again." Mickey said and this time the bottle pointed at Lawrence. Both him and Nate wanted a drink.

While the bottle continued to roll for a while Sean got a phonecall from his wife. He hung up after a while and sighed. "Donna wants me to come home."

"I'll come with ya, then we can share a cab." Lawrence said because he lived closeby and knew that they were all way too drunk to drive. They said their goodbyes and left.

"Actually I should go back to Carol myself." Vincent smiled. "She said she doesn't mind, but I still should head home."

"Hey my brother wanted to pick me up after his shift. He should be here any minute now." Bruce said and at that moment he waved over at a guy who entered the bar. "There he is... we can take ya along."

"Great, let's go then." Vincent and Bruce hugged everybody and then left with the uniformed officer who was Bruce's younger brother.
