Default Where these goof just goofs or intentional?

I was watching the Brady Bunch this morning, it the one where Jan wins most popular girl. twice in this episode Jan reffered to blood being thicker than water, when referring to Peter being her brother. Carol has done the same thing in the episode where Peter dates the older woman as Philip Packer. Do you think this was just a goof? Or do you think they (the writers director, etc) think the viewer would forget the premise of the show.

In the episode where Greg gets caught smoking, Carol and Mike overhear Greg playing his guitar. Mike says something like "Hey, he's pretty good" and Carol replies, "Well, he gets it from my side of the family". Um, yeah.

It's kind of surprising that none of the producers thought that those lines were weird and had them taken out. But then again, the whole stepfamily issue was virtually never mentioned after the first season.

Were Mike and Carol only children because between the two of the no brothers or sisters showed up? Also was Oliver a cousin and from which side?

Carol Brady definately had a sister. This was revealed in the episode "Lost Lost Locket". Carol was on the phone with Aunt Martha to ask her if she sent Jan the locket. According to Carol, Martha told her to say hi to Roger. When Mike asked who Roger was, Carol send that it was her sister's husband. I don't remember Carol's sister name, nor do I know why she wasn't invited to Carol's wedding.

Oliver was from Carol's side of the family, and his parents' names were Jack and Pauline. They never mentioned whether it was Jack or Pauline who was Carol's sibling.

Default Why wouldn't Mike know?

Mike didn't know his brother-in-law's name?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Alice give Jan the locket? ISTR that Alice said that she, like Jan, was also a middle child.

Yes, you are correct, James...Alice sent Jan the locket...Alice's typewriter is the one which "dropped its 'y's"...and she did send it to her through the mail "from one middle sister to another".

But I think that Carol DID talk to her sister during that episode to see if she (Carol's sister) sent Jan the locket...

Actually, Carol was talking to her Aunt Martha, asking her if she sent the locket. She actually called her "Aunt Martha" on the phone. Aunt Martha then asked Carol how "Roger" was doing. When she told Mike this, Mike said, "Who's Roger", and Carol replied, "my sister's husband."
