Default Why is Healthy Food More Expensive Than Unhealthy Food?

I can't believe that healthy food is so expensive in supermarkerts and unhealthy food is so much cheaper. Why is that? Well that explains why most of America is overweight-LOL The healthy food is too high

I don't think healthy foods are more expensive. Specialty brands that claim to be 'organic' or similar may be more expensive, but that doesn't mean they are worth it. Fresh fruits and vegetables are healthy and they are relatively inexpensive. A one or 1.5 pound lettuce costs half as much as 8 ounces of fried potato chips or cheetos.

I also think since it has so much salt, fat, sugar cornstarch, and other preservatives it can stay on the shelves much longer. Fruits, meats, fish, milk will go bad in a much shorter time. if supermarkets have to throw out, they lose money. I read somewhere supermarket throw out 4o % of food. That is a lot of food.
