As you all know John Ritter has played JD's dad twice on "Scrubs" and was to play JD's father for the 3rd time this upcoming season. Unfortunatley John Ritter passed away Sept 11 do to heart problems. The episode he was to appear in has been re-written. The question is will the writers write John's death into the show as the writers of "8 Simple Rules" have planned to do.

This information was aired on "Access Hollywood".

I was just going to ask. Are they planning on doing something with the character, like saying that JD's father died, or are they just never going to mention him again?

It was also mentioned in the People Magazine with the tribute to John.

It showed a picture of him and JD togther
