Default ABC's Tribute to John Ritter

I thought it was well made. ABC even showed the dance scene from Up in the Air which is cut out from N@N.

My wife and I watched the whole thing. Definitely a tear jerker. It was very well made... and I really like how they pulled in other actors from various backgrounds to say something. Truly John was well respected by his peers. I taped the program as well. Took me till today to realize why I hadn't seen that dancing scene before. Maybe when they get the series out on DVD starting early next year they won't cut that one out.

Anyway, overall very high production values for the tribute. ABC, IMO, has always been one of the classiest networks. It's no wonder they could do such a good job on such short notice.

I watched it last night too...and yes, very well made! I loved the dance scene from Up in the Air, and the out takes from 8 Simple Rules...I didn't stop crying for about the whole thing...it was very touching, and sad too.
I cried when the kids from 8SR were on, and Kayley and Amy started to cry...I can't even imagine what they're feeling right now...and I like the interviews with Katey Sagal, they were touching, those ones made me cry too...
Anyway, it was overall an extremely nice tribute...I wish I would have recorded it!!!!!!!! Oh, and does anyone know the name of the song that played at the end when they were showing the film reel of the clips?

here the name of the song, lyrics, and the band who sang it

" When I look to the Sky " by the band " Train "

When it rains it pours and opens doors
And floods the floors we thought would always keep us safe and dry
And in the midst of sailing ships we sink our lips into the ones we love
That have to say goodbye

And as I float along this ocean
I can feel you like a notion that won't seem to let me go

Cause when I look to the sky something tells me you're here with me
And you make everything alright
And when I feel like I'm lost something tells me you're here with me
And I can always find my way when you are here

And every word I didn't say that caught up in some busy day
And every dance on the kitchen floor we didn't dance before
And every sunset that we'll miss I'll wrap them all up in a kiss
And pick you up in all of this when I sail away

Whether I am up or down or in or out or just plane overhead
Instead it just feels like it is impossible to fly
But with you I can spread my wings
to see me over everything that life may send me
When I am hoping it won't pass me by

And when I feel like there is no one that will ever know me
there you are to show me

I watched it last night and I thought ABC did a wonderful job with the tribute! I enjoyed the outakes from 8 simple rules as well as when they showed John with his dad when John was 11 years old, then end is what really got to me as well as the interviews.

John was a wonderful person and is deeply missed by many.

Thanks nantucket for the song! I also forgot to mention this, but I loved the clip of a young young John and his dad, and John was doing a little bit on Tex's show or something...he was so cute! It's funny because he did the same faces he did in TC, 8sr, etc...very cute. I've seen it somewhere before, I just love it!

I never knew that is father Tex sang that song " My spurs go giggle gaggle giggle" They showed a clip of his dad doing that in like the 1950's..

John used that same EXACT song when he played his Twin Brother Austin remember

* also....

I agree with Amy Davidson.. when she said she thinks John was a Angel!

I am really starting to think this is 100% true.. from Day one of his life he was put on this earth to make people feel love & happiness!

I think he was a Angel!!!
