Question im confused

i have heard 2 stories on the John Ritter death.

1. He collapsed right on set and they said "get help" and stuff

2. He left the set because he wasnt feeling well, and the others thought it was food poisoning. He ended up going to the hospital.

So which one is it?

Yeah, I was wondering the same because what I first heard was the first one you mentioned, but on the ABC special they said the second one.

I would assume it was #2 since it was told directly by the people that was there.

I think it was both. He collapsed feeling ill and in pain thinking (and saying) he/they thought it was food poisoning. They got the nurse or whomever it is they said was on staff at the studio to handle health related things. Maybe this person thought it was foodpoisoning... but anyway they knew he needed to goto the hospital (if it was foodpoisoning or anything else serious like that since I'm sure they probably don't pump stomachs there and the hospital is across from the studio), they took him to the hospital then and the rest happened.

Seems that is what happened based on all accounts but mainly the ABC news tribute.

Why does it have to be one or the other? I'm as much a conspiracy theorist as anyone... but I'm a realist too. Seems both happened. However not everyone was present for him collapsing in pain... nor was everyone there to see him go off to the hospital. The ABC special covered what happened pretty well I think.

Was he not sick the night before? I thought that the food poisoning idea came from Wednesday night. Henry Winkler said in one of his interviews that he got a call saying John had a "rough night" on Wednesday evening, and a late call Thursday morning. Then he collapsed that day and went to the hospital.

Does that make sense?

They said he was feeling ill and he went to lay down in his dressing room. He still wasn't feeling any better and thats when they took him to the hospital.

John Ritter Dies of Heart Ailment

by Lia Haberman
Sep 12, 2003, 5:05 AM PT

Prolific funnyman John Ritter, who got famous playing a bumbling young ladies' man and recently made a comeback playing the bumbling overprotective dad of two young babes, died suddenly of a previously undetected heart problem, his reps said Friday. He was 54.

Ritter, who would have been 55 next week, collapsed on Thursday night while filming ABC's 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter.

No, you're not stupid. I just pasted an article that says to the letter, that he collapsed on set. So you're right. I just think "angel" is very sensitive about this topic, as everyone is, and he/she doesn't want John to be talked about if it isn't true. But it is, every news site and tribute has said that he collapsed and they took him to the hospital.

You know what, you're probably right. I just read another article that said he was joking around as he got in the car to drive to the hospital. That qoute I posted before was off of ETonline. But the one I just read said what you said. I think everyone is just trying to make heads and tails of this because they're so broken up about the whole situation. But it depends on what article you read and what tribut you watch, cause they have all twisted it one way or another. I apologize if I caused more confusion. I was just posting what I read.

I've read other articles where they say that John left the set and went to his dressing room because he wasn't feeling well. Then these articles say that while he was in his dressing room he was VERY ill for several hours, with profuse sweating and violent vomiting (sorry for the detailed descriptions, but that's what the articles said).

BOTTOM LINE: The poor man has died, and no matter WHAT the details leading up to his death were, John has left us far too soon.

There are going to be certain programs and publications that are going to try to make John's last hours on earth more exciting and dramatic than they probably were.....We need to take such overblown reports with a grain of salt and just appreciate the fine legacy of entertainment that John left for us....I think that THAT'S the finest tribute that an entertainer can hope for.
