Hey all you friends fans. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me why the friends characters ocassionally hit their forearms together. What episode did that start in? Please help!!!

If I remeber correctly, it's a way of giving the middle finger without actually giving the finger. I think that's how Monica explained it because Ross had actually started it first when he did it to Rachel.
