Don't Go Jo.

[Rebel Queen 1980]

Well here's the story I've been working on,Two characters
in the story Ryan Morris and Annabelle Morris are used
by permission from Ryan T. Morris,no challenge to ownership
is intended,Thanks to Ryan T.Morris on that behalf,
Alright,So here it begins .

It was a dark cold September night in The Bronx as Jamie
sat up in her room doing her homework,she had do it this time
on her own as her father Rick was working late and her mother
Jo was in bed,Jo had a bad cold and so far she wasn't getting
any better,She had taken some cough syrup before bed in order
to sleep,but it did no good ,and she couldn't breathe so
she lay in bed awake all night,Jamie heard her mother's violent
coughs from the bedroom next and gotten up from her bed,she
put her books away and decided to check on her mother.

''Mom are you okay?''Jamie asked her mother in a tired voice,It
was ten thirty and way past her bed time,''I'm fine baby'' Jo said
in a hoarse voice,''Mom,maybe Dad's right maybe you should
see a doctor,After all you have eaten in three days,all you wanted
is sleep and you also threw up about six times last night and
your cough sounds so awful. ''Jamie stated tiredly.
''I can't breathe,and this cough is killing me,Oh gosh I'm also
burning up!''Jo said hoarsely,''I can go get the thermometer so
we can check your temperature.'' Jamie said and she ran into the
bathroom to retrieve it out of the medicine cabinet,She went back
into the bedroom and put the thermometer slowly in Jo's mother,
she took it it out and read 100 F,'
'You have a fever Mom,it says
one hundred on this thermometer,I'm staying up with you until
Dad gets home and I won't go to school tomorrow,instead I'll
stay here with you while Dad goes to work ok?Jamie stated,
''But Jamie you have to go to school,It's just September and
you'll get to far behind in your school work.''Jo said and started
to cough,''I know mom but you always miss work when I'm sick
so someone has to stay here and watch over you now lie down
and try to get some rest'',Jo smiled at her daughter and so drifted
off to sleep,Jamie shut the bedroom door and went back into her
room she put on her pajamas and started to go to bed,But she
couldn't sleep she went into the living and turned on tbe TV.
( TV Announcer)
And now back to our show.

It was midnight when Rick got home,he was surprised to the
the living room light on,he opened the door and saw Jamie sitting
on the brown recliner that Jo's father Charlie had given him for
Christmas three years ago.''Should you be in bed young lady?''
Rick asked her.,''Dad I can't sleep,mom's getting worse,she can hardly talk,she throws up every five minutes and she can't breathe,she barely fell asleep an hour ago,I don't think I'll go
to school tomorrow so I can stay here and watch her,Jamie said.
''
Alright be careful when you help give your mom her medicine,
and make sure she gets plenty of rest and fluids ok.Rick advised
her,'
'I will dad,goodnight.''Jamie said,''Goodnight pumpkin and
get plenty of rest,you know your mother's a handful wheb she's
not feeling well.Rick said,''I know,I will,goodnight,'' Jamie yawned
closed the bedroom door,she could hear him talking to her mother
in the other room,''So how are you feeling baby.'' Rick asked softly
as not to irritate Jo,''
God,I feel horrible,this cough syrup is not working and I can't breathe,I slept for awhile but I keep having
to run to the bathroom because my stomach feels bad,I haven't
go the strength to move,I can't sallow so I avoid eating and drinking '' Jo said in a barely audible tone,''Well listen you'te not
going to talk anymore,from now on you just nod your head when
you need something you just signal to me and I'll get for you,
but for now just close your eyes and get try to get some rest,
Jo nodded at him and shut her eyes,Rick looked at his wife with
tears in his eyes and said a quick prayer.

''God there a lot things that I have that are great in my life,
my parents,my daughter,my family,but most importanly my wife,
I really love Jo,she means alot to me,Do me a favor God and
please her get well,I don't even what she has,just please heal
her and make herself again,Amen.
He then shut off the light and climed into bed.

Thanks Again,And Now Here's More.
Morning soon came and Rick awoke early in order to get Jamie
up,They both ate some Corn Flakes for breakfast,Rick once
again ensured to his daughter to be safe around her mother
and to make sure to get her make-up work from school, Jamie
nodded yes and shut the door as her father left,She then went
to into her parent's bedroom to check on her mother,Jo was
still weezing from her cough and her forehead was hotter than
ever,''Mom!,you're burning up again!''Jamie cried as she ran
to retrieve the thermometer once again,''Oh great just what I needed a teenager hollering at me when I'm ill.'' Jo thought to
herself,Jamie ran back into the bedroom and placed the thermometer under her mother's tongue and waited patiently.

She took the thermometer out of Jo's mouth,It read 102 F,''It's
102 F!,You need a cold cloth,I'll be right back!.'' Jamie said and
she ran into the bathroom,she grabbed a white washcloth out
of the linen closet to soak in the sink in cold water,After that
she rang some of the water of the cloth and went to place
on Jo's forehead,''There you should feel better,you also need
fluids so I'll get you some orange juice,you just stay and got
some rest and leave everything to me.'' Jamie said,Jo smiled
at her daughter as she shut her eyes once again,Jamie went
into the kitchen and poured orange juice into a small glass,she
then placed it on top of the small nightstand that was near her
parent's bed and right next to the door,Jo was asleep on the
bed,She was shivering from bad chills,but Jamie didn't cover
to avoid Jo's temperature from rising anymore,She knew this
was dangerous and the fact that people can die from it.''

It was fine school day in Peekskill,New York,Tisha was excited
about her new baby brother,Dorothy had been dating a guy
named Deon Williams for four years and she just had a baby boy,
they decided to name him Deon Isaiah Williams,

but they called him by his middle name,Isaiah was a happy baby
always smiling when ever his parents or his big sister smiled at him,Back at home
Dorothy was watching a movie and taking
care of Isaiah,He hardly ever cried except if he was hot,cold,
hungry or if his diapers were soiled,Dorothy had decided it
would be awhile before she returned to work again,so Deon
decided it was best to get two jobs in order to support his family,

Dorothy's mind wandered quickly and she had a knot in her
stomach,suddenly she began to think about Jo,She knew
something was wrong,She had never thought of Jo like this
before,She hope she was ok,She decided she would call Natalie
after giving Isaiah a bath and putting him to sleep that evening.

Thanks Again,Here's More.
Dorothy bathed her son and laid him down to sleep in his
crib.After that she went into the living room picked up the
telephone and dialed Natalie's number,Natalie was at home
typing out another book,she decided to make this a love story,
She had been typing since early morning but was the only free
time she got away from her six year old son Thomas,Thomas
was in kindergarten this year and he was curious little boy,always
asking Natalie questions about everything,
Natalie loved her son
very much.She just wished she and Harper did not call it off,They
were to marry in early 1997,but Harper broke the marriage when
Natalie told him in early January that she was pregnant,Harper
was there for Natalie when Thomas was born,but he suddenly
decided he could not manage a wife and son on his salary.

The phone rang just Natalie finished out another chapter on
her story.''Hello?''Natalie responded when she picked up the reciever,''Hi Nat,this is Dorothy.''Dorothy answered back.''Listen
I've been thinking alot about Jo for some reason.''I have a feeling
that something's wrong,has Blair called you lately?'' Dorothy
asked in a panicky voice.''No but I'm sure Jo's ok,maybe she's
ill or something,I mean surely if she was involved in something
serious Rick would called by now''. ''Maybe you're right,oh well
if anything comes up please call to let me know,I gotta go,Tisha's
almost home from school''. ''Ok,same here Thomas almost out
from school too and I have to go to pick him up.''Ok bye Nat''
Dorothy said,''Bye.''Natalie responded and hung up the phone.''
