The latest Lucy DVD (S1 vol 9) has a sequence on it unbroadcast since June 9th 1952 - an end of season tag, with Lucy and Ricky going off on holiday. It's basically a Philip Morris ad, and it sounds dreadful! Maybe it's because we're not used to such blatant advertising in the UK, or maybe it's because it's a cigarette that they're advertising, I don't know, but I found it pretty hard to take. Nice piece of TV history though, and it does have some laughs. Mostly 'cause Desi practically sets himself on fire trying to light his cigarette.

Oh cool!! Thanks Mickey for telling us this.... I have one ad for philip morris on one of my specials tapes. But this one sounds great!!!

. I dont care what they are selling.. its Lucy & Desi!

Well that is how TV stuck around in the old days, and today, advertising. Smoke em if you got em.

Thanks Mickey, I think I'd be cool to see too, even if it is "hard to take" like you say.
