Default Winkler Interview on John Ritter's Death

Henry Winkler's interview with Mary Hart on John Ritter's death made me feel like I'd lost my best friend, too. So blessed that at age 45 I really have never lost a loved one--other than grandparents from old age. I wept for John and for Henry but at the same time celebrated such a wonderful friendship.

I think I'd rather have Alzheimer's than have to experience that kind of pain. Wouldn't it be wonderful to always believe your loved ones are alive and well!

You are very lucky. Count your blessings. The interview with Henry Winkler had me in tears. He was a good friend.

Mr. Roper,

I do count my blessings--I often wonder what I did to deserve so many.

I'm sorry that you, too, lost a good friend. Isn't it amazing how the magic of mass media makes perfect strangers feel like they knew someone intimately? We all grieve as one big family.

By the way, are you the Mr. Roper, Norman Fell?

Pamela

It is amazing. The last 3 days show how much John Ritter was loved. I hoped he knew when he was alive. My user name is the one and only Mr. Roper----Norman Fell.

Mr. Fell,

What an unexpected pleasure to have connected with you on line.

A final comment about John knowing how much he was loved when he was alive--his smile said it all!

Thank you, too, for the smiles. You developed a wonderful character in Mr. Roper.

Warmest regards,
Pamela

My user name is mr roper. I am not the real Norman Fell. Sadly MR. Fell died in 1998. I'm sorry for the confusion. I wish I really knew John Ritter, he was a great guy. He will be missed.

I had heard that Henry Winkler made a guest appearance on "8 Simple Rules" during a new episode that was taped before John Ritter's death and I was thinking that he would make a great replacement for John---not that anybody could ever replace John. What makes the show work is the strong relationship that John had with his TV daughters and now that he's gone the show desperately needs someone who can provide an appropriate male father figure for the rest of the cast and with whom the viewers will trust and feel comfortable with in that role, which won't be easy. Who better than Henry Winkler, one of John's closest friends and someone who has remained popular with audiences even 20 years after he wore his trademark leather jacket for the last time. Why not? If having Jack Tripper raise teenage daughters was funny, what do you imagine it would like for The Fonz? Besides, I'm sure John would have wanted it that way, not that, unfortunately, he would have had a choice.

And yes, I will miss him a lot, too. My prayers go out to his family and all his fans.

Ohh God.
I never knew Norman Fell died.

There's a third blow this week.
