Default Cabin Fever.....

Crap I thought I was going to puke. How these people come up with these rancid things amazes me.

I saw it yesterday and I wasn't pleased. What a waste.

I saw it last night on one of the HBO channels. It's a sort of interesting premise about kids getting infected by an unseen skin virus. However, the overall concept has been done before in 100's of movies. It's a combination of the typical teen slasher movies with tons of gore, excessive profanity, and clueless kids in their 20's who act like they're 15.

I felt sorry for the only recognizable face in the film. It was Rider Strong from Boy Meets World fame. By all accounts, he's a very likeable person and I enjoyed his Shawn character on BMW. He likes writing and poetry. He said himself that the movie is over-rated. It's just too bad that a young actor, who I always thought came across as a very sincere person had to endure himself to this kind of work.

I had the flu when I watched it- so it wasn't a treat when the people started puking up blood. I didn't really like the film anyway- it is a story that HAS been done to death (however, this one did manage to inject some humour into it- be it very dark humour), and it took a lot from Night Of the Living Dead amongst other things.

Let's just say that after I saw the movie, I thought twice about shaving my legs ever again.

Yea,

I didn't get the ending either. Does Rider's character (Paul) die?

Also, what was up with the "Pancakes kid", Dennis? That was really bizzare!

Some people asked me why he bites people. I think they had a kid who bites to show that he could have had the virus early on in the movie. I think they really all got sick from drinking the infected water. Also one of the stupidest scenes is after the kid bites Paul, he is told he can wash his hands in the contaminated water!

It sure is no Halloween! hahaha. It's like "People are sick and dying but we can't leave the cabin! We have to have sex first!!!" hahaha! The movie could have been better with a more plausable script and more intelligent characters.

I love Cabin Fever. Despite the obnoxious pancake kid scenes. Eli Roth got the idea for the film when he contracted a really bad skin infection while working in Iceland.

Also enjoy Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever. Which does show what happens to Rider Strong's character from the first film.

And I liked the prequel Cabin Fever 3: Patient Zero which shows where and how the disease started.

There was going to be a 3rd sequel, but it was scrapped and the awful remake was made instead.

The character Eli Roth plays in Cabin Fever he reprises as a cameo in 2001 Maniacs.
