LOS ANGELES - Steven Weber is probably best known for his comedic work, but he'll be taking a significantly darker role when he guest-stars on "The Lyon's Den" this fall.
Weber will play a litigator-turned-serial killer (insert lawyer joke here) in an episode of the new NBC drama that's scheduled to air in October. NBC press materials note that the character has an ironic sense of his victims' just deserts. Although he's most recognizable for his role on the long-running sitcom "Wings," Weber has done his fair share of dramatic work as well, including roles in "Leaving Las Vegas," "Timecode" and "Single White Female." He's also played a bad guy in the ABC version of "The Shining |

This quite a change of events....A few months ago I was under the impression that Steven was going to be the REGULAR STAR of "Lyon's Den", not just a guest star. What happened here?

Pilotguy, my guess is you are confusing this with a show Weber did for ABC. He shot a pilot for ABC that was not picked up. (I can't remember what it was going to be called) but unfortunatley that happens a lot where a network has several shows in development, but they never actually make it to the air. For whatever reason, the powers that be at ABC dropped the project.

That's too bad that the network didn't pick up the show....SOMEWHERE, SOMEPLACE there MUST be good, worthwhile and LASTING "Post-Wings" projects for Tim, Steven, Crystal and the rest. (At least Tony Shalhoub has found a successful series!). |
