I was just wondering if 8 Simple Rules is still going to be on ABC this fall, since the death of John Ritter. What they could do, if they've already started recording is maybe have something happen to the dad on the show, who would be John Ritter. Just a suggestion. I understand if they cancel it because that is a big loss for the show. I want to send my condulances to his family.

I am certain that they probably won't cancel the show. Many shows have felt tremendous losses such as this one. But as they say in the business, the show must go on. Whatever the case may be, I think that cancelling the show would be a huge injustice to his memory. Ritter was a person who dedicated his career to making people laugh. So I think may have wanted it this way.

Don't let the show rest! Let his character die on the show so it will continue. That way he can live on with the show. If Mr. Cosby had died they would have ended the series, that's true. But it's not the 80's anymore. Sitcoms deal with such a variety of issues now. It used to be only happy situations or slightly un-pleasant ones. Now they can deal with deaths and rape and other things. Come on! Join the new Millinia!

they probably won't cancel it, but i don't think it will get good ratings with a replacement, so they'll just cancel it later...jmo
