TV STAR JOHN RITTER DIES AT 54
I am completely shocked and saddened. He was so young. He was a funny and loveable man and will be truly missed. |

I know, I can't help but feel sorry for his family and his stage family. His 55th b-day was next week, Amy Davidson's (Kerry) 24th b-day (Does she REALLY look that old?!?!?! Anywayz...) was next week, his daughter's 4th or 5th b-day was the day before (The 10th), and his heart attack occured on 9-11. So many coincidences....

I'm so shocked. Speechless. No word can describe this. This is the worst news I have heard EVER. I still don't believe this, it's so unreal. 54 is way too early and the weird thing is he has been so active, he was on ET a few days ago, did that ABC Primetime Preview Weekend on Sunday at Disney's California Adventure theme park, etc.
I've followed John's career VERY actively and brought news about him on the internet as well, since he was so active it was hard to keep up. I'm going to have a hard time dealing with this, because it is just too unreal. Hopefully ABC has an 8 Simple Rules marathon later on and Nick@Nite or TV Land should do a Three's Company tribute. Every channel should do something--that's how much this guy has done. He was the nicest guy ever in Hollywood. |

Pav, how many of John's shows does the Big V (Viacom, y'all) have right now. As I recall, didnt you tell me that they pretty much had *everything* that wasn't on another network.
Assuming Viacom has the rights, we may be seeing a full-blown John Ritter marathon on TV land soon (with more than just TC....), and a TC marathon on N@N. Dang, this has been a really bad year for celeb deaths. Admittedly, this one probably hit me the hardest. Yeah, Bob Hope died, but we knew it was coming. Dammit, John was only 54!!!!. Heck, a lot of my family is that old. Really makes you think. I'm wondering, now, what will become of the show. While it's a good show regardless, it just wouldn't be the same without John. Personally, I think that they need to air the season 2 eps they already had done, and then just end the series. Maybe do one final "tribute" ep that'd double as a series finale, then pack and go home. Lord knows I wouldn't watch the show with anyone else starring. It just wouldn't be right. |

This is a huge shock. Like everyone's said, John Ritter was such a huge talent. I feel for his family, the cast, and his friends.
If the producers and cast do decide to try to continue the show, I don't think they would replace John. What they would probably do is have art imitate life and have Kate become a widowed mother trying to raise 3 teenagers. It obviously wouldn't be the same show. But it's something that if they wanted to do it, it could work. |

It all depends which direction ABC and Disney go with the show. As successful as it is and the advertising it brings in, I think ABC will give it a chance to see if it can continue success without Ritter's character. But if the ratings falter....then cancellation will most likely happen.

Yeah it was A BIG SHOCK!!!! I woke up this morning turned on the radio...the CNN thing came on and said John ritter Died last night at age 54 due to complications of the heart...and my mouth just dropped. I still dont believe it. I was in denial...still am in denial. It is not believable. I was almost in Tears. When i went downstairs to tell my mom, the 1st thing she did was turn on the tv. And we just kept changing the channels to see all the coverage. Then we were watching CNN and the breaking news thing came up and they saud Johnny Cash was dead.
What day!!! Today i woke up feeling good...then i heard about this and my spirits we just not up today. Its not gonna sink in for awhile(4 me ne way). |

I know I don't normally post here, but I grew up watching re-runs of Three's Company and was just getting into 8 Simple Rules good, so I was so sad when I heard news. He was someone who lit up the screen, no matter what he did.

OMG!! I only found out about his passing today (13/9) My dad came in my room & said that John Ritter died. My uncle actually told me more of the details since he heard first. I will seriously miss John.He seemed so active & full of life. I live in Australia & 8SR stopped airing a few months ago, but I'm hoping it will come back on again. I was so upset when I heard about it, I still am. He was such a great actor & he will be missed.
