Default John Ritter Has Died!

I just heard this while listening to Coast To Coast AM. George Noory just received the info apparently from the news. At this time there is no information on his death. There should be more information in the upcoming hours on the news.

This is sad. Three's Company was one of my favorite sitcoms. He will be missed.

Me too. I loved John in the "Problem Child" movies. The creepy thing is, I was about to send him a request for an autographed picture! I had his address on a "To Send" list and everything.

The AP Network news on the radio has just announced that Ritter died of a massive heart attack, just few days short of his 55th birthday (September 17th).

Wow. That really hits close to home. My grandpa died of a massive heart attack when he was only 64 in 1997. He was just barely past retirement age. Man, that really blows.

That would be correct, AAOT. I just got this off my hometown newspaper website

TV Star John Ritter Dies of Heart Problem

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- John Ritter, whose portrayal of the bumbling but lovable Jack Tripper helped make the madcap comedy series "Three's Company" a smash hit in the 1970s, has died, his publicist and longtime assistant said Friday. He was 54.

Ritter fell ill Thursday on the set of his ABC sitcom "8 Simple Rules ... For Dating My Teenage Daughter," said Susan Wilcox, his assistant of 22 years. The cause of death was a dissection of the aorta, the result of an unrecognized flaw in his heart, said his publicist, Lisa Kasteler.

Ritter died at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center shortly after 10 p.m. Thursday,

Ritter, a Southern California native who lived in Beverly Hills, came to prominence for his role in "Three's Company" and had appeared in more than 25 television movies and a number of films.

Ritter, who would have turned 55 on Wednesday, made a successful return to sitcom acting with "8 Simple Rules" last year, and the ABC show was scheduled to begin its second season on Sept. 23.

At the Burbank hospital where he died, Ritter was accompanied by producers and co-workers, his wife, Amy Yasbeck, and 23-year-old son Jason, Wilcox said. He is survived by three other children, Carly, Tyler and Stella.

That's awful. Guys like John Ritter don't die. I honestly don't know what to say.

He was a very talented physical comic, and the world lost more than they're even aware of yet.

Oh my god.

When I saw this thread I thought Darkweaver was playing a very wrong, about to be locked, joke thread (sorry Darkweaver for thinking that!) This is such a UNBELIEVABLE shock.
