Default Drama?

I just saw a really long commercial advertising the new season and made it seem like a drama series or soap opera. They only showed dramatic clips and one or two funny ones. Just because it isn't funny anymore doesn't mean its a drama, People!!

When was it aired? I caught a few minutes of the rerun tonight on NBC, and there was an advertisement, but it was of all the previous seasons, and just a couple clips for season 10. There were both funny and dramatic moments in the one that I saw. I'm sure there are many different versions.

I hope Friends isn't a soap opera again this season....I've really grown tired of all that! The reason I like the earlier episodes the best is because they weren't overly dramatic like they are now!

Jennifer Aniston said on Ellen DeGeneres show there is a lot of drama this season. I am so glad it is ending then, people want a comedy show, not some drama soap opera show. I loved Friends from back in the old days. It was a great show.

I saw that "trailer" a few nights ago. I liked it.
If anything, it shows how a well made program can provide us with comedy as well as drama.
Yeah, sitcoms are supposed to be about the laughs, but a good sitcom can be dramatic and sad at times so we can see a more human side of the characters.
I think it's an outstanding achievement by the writers, directors and actors when they can make you feel for a sitcom character.

If you are talking about the same trailer I saw on Thursday night it was AWESOME. They showed it after the :40 episode was over, before Will and Grace. They showed some clips of Season 10, and then started with JOEY and PHOEBE and showed clips of each character, or couple, from the past seasons. They showed Ross coming in Chandler's room in England hollering he's getting married and Monica popping her head out from under the covers saying "Yu dont think he knew I was in here do you?", showed Ross and Rachel's kiss under the "stars" in the museum on their first night - it was an excellent preview/postview/commercial and I was frantically scanning my tape to make sure that I had actually taped it because it was so good.

FRIENDS will not be replaced. It might be a sitcom but it goes above and beyond that because we've spent so many years with this group and I love seeing the drama side of their lives. One of the key highlight moments of the entire series for me was when Ross slept with Chloe and Rachel found out. When they fought in the apartmet (and the rest of the gang was relegated to Monica's bedroom) and Ross literally was begging for Rachel's forgiveness, saying he could not live with her heart, etc...that's one of the best scenes of the entire 9 seasons.

I'm excited for the new season to start but I'm so sad that it's the beginning of the end for my favorite TV show of all times.

On my left, I saw days upon days of lipstick and ticking clocks, dirty looks and quiet whisperings. And burning secrets that just won't ever die away. And on my right, what could I picture? The blue sky, the desert earth, stretching out into the eerie infinity. A beautiful never-ending nothing.
