I think the Fernwood/America Tonight show had moments of genius. But I also think it got a little scarey at times. One time when Melissa Gilbert guest starred someone threatened to kill her and the talk show co-host, Jerry Hubbard, refused to even care. A young girl threatened like that and he doesn't even care!?! I also realize it was only a fictional show masquerading as a talk show but still it was bad to watch!

Barth and Jerry were not necessarily portrayed as "good" people.... but they were at least LIKEABLE I suppose |

I have tried to watch that show several times and stop because its too stupid. I like Fred Willard and Martin Mull, but to me for some reason, it just didnt work.
