I put both under the same thread because sometimes the non-verbal moments are improvised.
On "Coach Charlie": When Darlene tells Eric to "take one of those zippers off his jacket and stick it on his mouth," Eric smirks and glances at Darlene and plays with his zippers. On "Crimes of the Heart": After Dr. Samuels announces to the class about how he's going to bust the bootleg shirt sellers, Jawaharlal mouths "Dennis!" and Dennis responds with a hand gesture that reads, "Relax. I got everything under control." (Cute) Another cute Dennis/Jawaharlal moment, also from "Coach Charlie": Eric disses Jawaharlal for not being sports-smart, and Dennis stands behind Jawaharlal, just poking at him, and getting no response. On "On The Road Again": As Charlie frustratedly writes "fabric softener" on the shopping list for Dr. Samuels, Eric goes "B-O-U-N-C-E. Bounce. Here, smell," and he pulls his shirt to Charlie for him to sniff it. |

Speaking of zippers, in "Hair to Eternity", the class auditions for the play Hair. There is a nude scene in that play so Mr. Moore tells the boys to take off their clothes (knowing that they wouldn't). All the guys back off and say no way but Eric stands there and reaches down to his pants zipper like he is going to take them off! You can just tell this is improvised!

Another good one from "Crimes of the Heart":
Alan chauvinistically blames "women problems" for Sarah's sudden change in her view towards school. While the other girls give dirty and shocked looks towards Alan, Simone embarrassedly pages through her notebook, and she looked bloated for some strange reason as she does so! Maybe it was her time of the month!

I think the best non-verbal moment was from Jawaharla, when he feel on the buzzer in "The Russians Are Coming, the Russians Are Coming!"
I laugh at that all the time!

I believe that this following moment was improvised:
"We Love You, Mrs. Russell": Charlie was reading a postcard from Mrs. Russell, and at the end of the episode, and the last line was "PS: Maria, stop playing with your hair." It just seemed improvised to me and Howard and Leslie totally rolled along with it. It was a cute moment. |
